The manual is specific in regards to this and sealant must be applied to threads . A small dab of sealant under the screw heads ensures a 100 % seal. Presssure testing confirms the job is 100% quality work but has suggested in one book some do not even bother doing a 100% seal job and just change the oil mid-season.
