Topside and Cap have no damage. I could count all cracks/nicks on one hand, but this is not the reason for me trying to 'cover' perfectly fine layer of gelcoat.
I am doing the deck, as well as the back area of the boat where new bench, sport seating, will be custom fiberglassed. Top side will flip up exposing the engine bay and back compartments. I will try to make it as seamless as possible. Obviously I will need to paint it, including the deck, with either gelcoat or paint. I am leaning toward the paint, especially inside of the boat, in the corners where I wouldnt be able to reach with buffer.

Could you elaborate more why wouldnt you advise using Awlcraft?Ive done alot of awlcraft m8..and I would strongly recommend you Dont squirt this on your boat. For Many reasons.
