18' Ebbtide Riviera floor replacement: - on trailer blocking

Hi this is my first project boat, I've got the floor off and foam out of the main deck but will need to pop the cap in order to get to the area under the bow seats. This increases the risk of tin-canning from what I've read. My trailer (rollers) has 16 points of contact and I've added an additional support under the bow. The $350 question is "is this enough" or do I need to add additional supports under the chine?

If the Rollers are suspect (which I've read concerns about) would it be enough to place 2x6 or 2x8 spanning the rollers? Should I add a couple of blocks under the keel where the bulkheads line up?

finally, do I need any support along the side of the hull, or is supporting from underneath enough?

I've added pictures to show how the trailer currently supports the boat.

Any additional support never ever hurts. But is it needed, can only be answered by you. The reason for supporting any hull when working on them is to keep the hull shape as you remove interior supports. As for the top being removed, you seriously need to take tons of measurements before removing the cap. And make a sketch and write those measurement down so you can verify the hull stays in that shape as you rebuild. I mean you want the cap to fit back on, I'm sure. And pictures helps tons as well. So any side support can only help keeping the sides from splaying out of shape... I usually make a sketch and measure from a centerline to each side from the transom to the bow about every foot or so to verify everything is in the exact same shape as it was before you do anything to it. JMHO

Yes, exactly what gm280 said. Take more pics than you think you will need because so much will happen between taking the cap off and putting it back on. What gave me peace of mind was adding 1 x 4 cross bracing. They are screwed to the side pocket supports. Kind of a pain to get around at times and my project isn't nearly the size of yours but anytime you can add a little structure while taking a lot away will help.
