Hay watermann l ment fasco epoxy like gluvit but a little bit cheaper, yes we talked about not doing the hole bottom out side of hull for corrosion resins,I thought on inside of hull would be different because it won't be in the water all the time I would hope the inside of hull will be dry as far as know fasco is epoxy paint?

Two different products with different functions in my opinion. You can read my thread where I put all the questions I asked Fasco Customer Support and things I learned about Fasco in it.

Gluvit is formulated to get into cracks and seal up seams. Fasco has different products, but I used the Fasco Steelflex 9X. It is more of a paint and thick. This can be combated by heating up the epoxy or using 5% Xylene to thin. Thus far it has held up really well with the few beatings I have been able to put it through and am overall very happy with the product.

So in summary:
Gluvit for sealing the rivet tails and seems. Fasco to "Paint" and seal large areas (flooring/transom)

I know it won't steer real good but for trolling that 6hp will save a lot of fule, pulse the big motor doesn't have to idle for a long time they can load up a little I do plan on using the kicker quite a bit it's olot quieter than the 120hp

I've seen guys use the Fasco steel flex epoxy on the outside, it is UV stable and seems to be durable. Coating the entire inside with an epoxy is a bad idea as the hull will hold water and if that stuff loosens any or cracks then water gets under it. No boat hull is ever dry all the time. classiccat can tell of his experience with goop on the inside of the hull.

epoxy doesn't adhere well to bare aluminum without serious prep work.

I mounted my kicker on the port side. That way I could put my transducer on the starboard side.

Agree the steering can become an issue, but it is manageable

I installed a Panther SS bracket. It came with directions on how to measure and determine height based off your kicker's leg length. Only thing special I did was an extra piece of UHMW on the exterior and Aluminium backer for the bolts inside the boat.

You can see it in post 523

Spraying the paint with what type of gun? With an HVLP gun a lot has to do with gun pressure, tip size and volume set up not too mention proper reducer amounts.

Flotation foam? I use rigid foam board, mainly the 2" thick boards.

That Duralux paint is pretty thick. Did you thin it down at all? I didn't want to thin mine and decided to roll it on rather than try it with the sprayer...after I purchased a 2.5 nozzle gun

Be mindful that you will not get a perfect finish. I know the mirror finish is what we all want, but that takes a lot of effort and extra steps. You rarely get they straight out of a spray gun. My suggestion is to roll and tip. Even then, you will have imperfections.

We are our own greatest critiques

As for foam, you will see most people advise to steer clear of two part foam on aluminum boats. It can get water logged over time and hold water up against the hull thus forming a perfect area for corrosion over time. I mimic what Watermann suggested and use the 2 inch foam board you can get at the big box stores.

You can get the foam board at Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, etc. XPS, the pink stuff, should run around $25 for a 2" 4x8 sheet.
