17' sylvan in need of interior

so any advice on how to go about this interior is much needed. The floor is somewhat rotten, some spots are spongy some are strong. I was thinking about redoing the floor but don't want to open up a can of worms. I am a pretty good carpenter but am at a loss when it comes to the wood on fiberglass. I was also thinking of just carpeting over it with outdoor carpenter and reframing the front seated area and laying seats there. Was also hoping to having the interior done this week before the block and heads get back from the machine shop.

Hi Blackhawk, Welcome to iboats forums.

Take a spin through some of the threads in the restorations forum - that will give you some idea of what you are looking at. Unfortunately, when a boat's flooring is rotten, it usually means that the support system under the floor is rotten as well. Best of luck.
