Sorry Kmsp...can't really help with how SC designed their ducting. Fuel vapors I believe collected low in the bilge so that part makes sense to me. Watermann is I/O master class; he'll set you up right!

I will say that I'm really digging that gauge cluster!

Also, a huge thank you for keeping things as original as possible...down to the console trim! :thumb:

The way I set up my bilge vent was to mount the blower fan to the transom and route the 3" vent line to the bottom of the bilge. Fuel vapor is heavier than air and you want the compartment to be well ventilated prior to ignition. You don't need or want to run fresh air lines into the bottom as it will scatter and mix the vapor adding fresh oxygen. Most times if the vents are above say on the transom cover leave them just open with no lines. If the vent shells are on the gunnels then I would run vent line back to the compartment leaving them towards the top under the transom cover.

I knew someone would come along with the answer for you if you waited long enough.

Really nice work, the metal edging on the wood, is that original or did you remake?

Awesome, thanks

You bet but there're some who would argue with me and I've seen guys ignore the advice of not feeding oxygen to the bilge and thought that running a vent line the entire length of the boat from a bow clam shell to the bilge was the proper way.

Please dont start duplicate topics about the same project.

The Dup has been closed

Looking really good!!! You are really moving along.

What did you use to paint the engine block? High temp paint?

Nice!!!

I have used VHT on some projects and worked out well as long as it wasn't in direct flame contact.

So is that a pic of the "Admiral" or the "First Mate"?
