LOL

We were just talking about this in another thread too.

I did the vinyl on the sides and have had adhesion issues. You can see how much of it I used in my thread, as I covered everything. If I were to do it again, I would go with something else, most likely paint. While the vinyl looks good at first, it has been a continued source of repair and reapplication of adhesive.

Just my 2 cents...

Copy that, not going to worry about waterproofing deck and will cover the boards and call it good.
Waterman I seen your restoration pics on the Chief thread, very nice and got some good ideas from it. Making it hard to think of selling. I think I will get the tinny and glass v-180 done and splash both and see what I think then.

I went from medium to small then pictures went through. The mahogany was all re-done front and back. The dash piece was too far gone so replaced with red oak. I wish I could find another Starcraft Holiday sticker.
2 coats of epoxy primer this weekend then oyster white on the hull and navy blue on top and gunwales.
the small cracks around the rivets repaired both sides.

I used Nautolex vinyl for deck covering on my boats and have no complaints about it. Defender has the best prices on it.

What does this stuff feel like? its really hard to tell by the pics, sometimes it looks like it might have a softer feel and other times it looks like hard plastic. just thinking about how often ill be barefoot the summer.

Very nice work. I am doing a 68 holiday and it looks like we are very close on our projects. You are ahead with the flooring. Really looking forward to following this project for inspiration.

Looks really good. What is the green stuff you put over the exterior brackets? I am guessing you are using rivets to secure the decking?

jdvasher The Nautolex feels like plastic. It is not soft by an means, but the durability and functionality was the selling point for me. It is easy to wash off and clean, where as carpet maybe softer but hold water/crud in it.

The patches went on with sealant and AD solid rivets. And sealed pop rivets where I couldn’t buck. Then covered with zinc chromate primer.
the decking is 5/8” BCX plywood with 2 coats spar urathane and 3/16” x 1” rivets. I got my marine vinyl from AllVinyl inc. from ATL, should get it Friday. I’m laying it down with marine vinyl adhesive from Menards. I plan on sanding/scuffing with 180 grit then clean good and trowel the adhesive and lay it on there.
I am also mounting the gas tank up front hopefully the ballast up front will work.

Sounds like you got a good plan. The prep is always key.

For your gas tank, is it external or going underneath the floor? I had a custom tank made and put it underneath up front as well. Can't say what the difference is as I never ran the boat with a tank in the back, but like to think it helps....

It’s original metal tank and will get mounted in the nose. I never ran it either but heard it was tail heavy originally so I thought try it there we’ll see, I can always switch it back.

Rustoleum: Always available and cheap. Don't have to worry about color matching too.
