Nice work!!!!!!

Nothing like a garage paint room to get the job done!!!

Did you paint both hulls or just the aluminum?

Lookin' good! :thumb:

Most of us struggle completing 1 build at a time...you're plowing through 2 in record time!

Trying to get one of them on the market this spring so I’m moving along as fast as I can. Winter is a good time for me to work on restorations. My summer is going to be dedicated to finishing my deck.
I like your idea of the oak gauge panel. I have oak on my header as well, the original piece was rotten (mahogany). I’m thinking of making the top piece and maybe dash piece out of oak as well.

Yeah the oak was kind of spontaneous; I was originally planning epoxy-encapsulated PLY, 2-part primer/paint, etc like the other wood in the boat.

then the ease of using a hardwood smeared with varnish...coupled with the fact that it would match the bow header just made sense.

My only regret is not using a full gloss spar varnish.

That is some pretty oak!! If I had a show boat, definitely would think of doing that, but love to fish to much so it would be wasted in that respect....

That oak is pretty.
Hopefully you used white oak and not red oak.
Red rots very quick, white doesn't.
Keep it dry and if white, it will last a lot time.

FFB15580-D42F-4B6A-B56B-77FDE4C3F905.jpeg Rustoleum topcoat oyster white and navy blue over Eastwood Epoxy primer, it’s economical and seemed to work fine. No bottom paint, it won’t sit in the water long.

Those end caps are rare as hens teeth, maybe find one in a search or Ebay.

I had custom caps made for mine since they are so hard to find. Plus with the mods I made would have been a waste to modify/cut up original pieces
