The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
There are valleys in the hull to allow water to get to the motor well and pumped out. Cut through the stringers and what not. Only about 1 inch round tho
Most likely behind the clear in order.
Gelcoat, fiberglass, wood, steel plate and glass. The wood and steel plate may or may not be glasses in. Now I believe we used locknuts on those cleats. 5/8 I believe. Should be able to just get a wrench on it and take the nuts off
The best boat I ever built, and I got to drive it. It was the Celebrity/SeaDoo 200 bowriddr it was a first addition after Juniper sold to Bombardier. 20ft. V6 in it. Wei lined all 14 boats up took off on a very flat and still Rend Lake Illinois. Helicopter above us Shooting pics. Best day...
I've never seen an access to a swim platform from the motor well. The reason is because the platform is bolted to the hull and both have flat edges butting up to each other. You could possibly cut a circular hole as an access hole just beside the ladder and make sure you have a cover to screw...
Oh I forgot to mention if the other side is cracked and it's gelcoat, find the ends of ALL the cracks if it's "spider webbed" and use a drill bit or a small router bit and at the end of the crack drill down tonthe fiberglass. That stops the crack. Then router out the crack. Edges to almost a 45°...
I've built over 100,000 boats from Mariah's, Godfrey, Hurricane, Celebrity, SeaDoo, Crownlines. I have a ton of knowledge and experience. Not that I have all the answers but I have a lot. I stopped working in the boating industry almost 20 years ago and still have people bring boats by the house...
Do not use gelcoat paste. Make sure the cracks or holes are fixed. If cracked then just router thecrack down until good glass shows. Fill with fiberglass Bondo sand flat . Smear catylized gelcoat evenly over the sanded glass to fill pits and blemishes. Spray gelcoat over that. Sand buff and...
Is the top side gelcoat? Do not grind. Take a router and router all theloose stuff away away. If you take out wood, glass some in. Glass over the whole thing. I'd router outer about 3 inches out and around the repair. Make sure no air bubbles are in the glass by dabbing bristles down with a...
I used to build those boats. I'm trying to remember just how the hoses were. Is there not an inspection plate on the floor for access? It would be white and round.
