The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
Also, possibly the previous person did the damage to the housing, what it looks like and it’s just a guess is that the housing hadn’t been fully pressed down on the impeller and then the bolts have been tightened to seat it, but the metal housing is too thin to do this and has stretched and the...
My engine is different from yours, 75hp, but the torque for the housing bolts on mine is 6.8 NM or 60 Lb In, which is one hand on a 1/4 torque wrench, personally I’d buy a new housing as yours is new bent unless you have good metalworking skills and torque to the correct setting, no doubt...
That’s a shame it looks otherwise like a really nice boat, if you do go down the route of a complete restoration it would make an interesting read, with lots of pictures!
What torque setting did you use, that’s been way over tightened and has distorted and bent the impeller cover, I’m presuming that there was nothing from preventing the impeller housing from seating correctly prior to tightening it.
Sounds like fuel starvation, or air getting into the fuel, when you rebuilt the carbs did you dismantle all the carbs and blow them through with carb cleaner, check the float needle valves. You mentioned that you closed off all of the carb jets, did that include the idle control jet, if so I’d...
Firstly do as Scott said, then give the battery a good charge, as @airshot said 12 volts is very discharged, a fully charged 12 volt battery when it’s been fully charged should read about 14.4 volts when just off the charger.
Hi, I just downloaded the service manual for my 75hp 2 stroke, it mentions to premix fuel to 50/1 for the first 30 gallons so this is additional oil for the fuel before it goes to the engine and will get the 2 stroke added to the fuel.
Your engine may be different but mine has an 80/1 mixture at...
