    VHF on All the Time?

The 24 hour period would be one of my overnight fishing odysseys at Bartlett Lake. Just want to be able to catch anyone else on marine vhf- I case I'm not the last guy in Arizona on the radio ;). I'm pretty sure that no one up there is even monitoring channel 16!

    VHF on All the Time?

Still able to turn the starter on 90 horse Mariner would be significant.

    VHF on All the Time?

I boat in central Arizona. There is little to no VHF radio traffic here. Nevertheless, I was wondering if there would be a significant draw on my battery by leaving my radio (Uniden UM385 - 360 mA @ 13.8V DC at squelched, 920 mA @ 13.8V DC at maximum audio output) on in triple watch mode...

    What are these for, Please?

Eureka! I found one (courtesy Tracker Boats). I had to magnify it but it looks like stereo leads. Agree?

    What are these for, Please?

('95 Mariner 90 0G242454/ '95 Tracker Pro-v17) Was working under the console and noticed these detached wires: black, looks with blue stripe in the photo but its solid black (ground?) and the other looks like purple red stripe or maybe pink? Anyone know what they're for? Standard boat wire...

Trouble shooting intermittent alarm Where's the wire?

1995 Mariner90 2 stroke (serial number 0G242454) I was getting an oil/overheating alarm horn intermittently on the lake the other day. Plenty of oli and the motor is using it. No performance issues. If I get it again I'm going to follow the procedures in the manual for checking the alarm...

    Why Oil Injection?

So emissions, convenience, and less oil fouling seem to be the motivations. I seem to have run into more than a few people who, frustrated by finicky alarms and a desire for simple foolproof ( provided you can read side of a 2 stroke mix bottle) systems, remove/bypass the oil I injection...

    Air Intake Box

1995 Mariner 90 2 stroke (serial number 0G242454). I noticed the air intake box over the carbs had little access holes with covers over each carb, Mine is missing the cover on the top one. Should that be covered as well? What are the holes for

    Why Oil Injection?

Once upon a time we added oil to our gas tanks for 2 stroke engines. Somewhere along the line they went to oil injection. Seems like a lot of extra parts and complication. There must be some benefits over the simplicity of mixing oil in the tank . What's the story on this? Thanks

    Water Inside Motor Guide W55

FYI- Finally got my hands on the service manual for this motor. It recommends Loctite 262, preceded by Loctite spray primer for shaft threads. Got shaft seals for the amature on. Just waiting on a few more parts. Manual also indicates 2-4-C grease for shaft tip, Mercury tech line guy told me...

    Water Inside Motor Guide W55

Just waiting for parts now. Someone suggested Locktite 263 to seal the threads on the shaft and white lithium to grease the ends of the rotor. that sound about right?

    Water Inside Motor Guide W55

Thanks for your replys. I've found a few YouTube videos o n Minn Kotas but nothing on wireless MotorGuides. If you know of any, a link would be appreciated. Does anyone know if the shaft is threaded where it goes into the lower unit? It looks to be. It pulled straight out on me and I'm...

    Water Inside Motor Guide W55

1994, serial# 98941294. I managed to wedge an obstruction between where the composite shaft attaches to the lower unit. It pulled out a bit and snapped back in when I raised it. The seal is broken and water got in. The motor was working even full of water! I managed to open the lower unit...

    10mm fuel hose or 3/8"? 1995 Tracker ProV17 90 HP Mariner 2 stroke

Just one question: I had the old A-1 line. Is that acceptable under regulations or must we now use A1-15?

    10mm fuel hose or 3/8"? 1995 Tracker ProV17 90 HP Mariner 2 stroke

Guilty! It was actually labeled to be 3/8" hose (when I got the whole thing out) but it was a looser fit (and still measured larger) than my other 3/8 hose even after the stretched part. However, the part that really threw me was that the barb diameter measured 10mm and was in fact larger than...

    10mm fuel hose or 3/8"? 1995 Tracker ProV17 90 HP Mariner 2 stroke

I measured it with my calipers both the ID of the hose as well as the fitting at the tank. I think the best thing is to convert to 3/8. Was hoping someone had done and could tell me if it works.

    10mm fuel hose or 3/8"? 1995 Tracker ProV17 90 HP Mariner 2 stroke

I've run into something odd. The fuel pickup hose from gas tank to where it connects under the splash well is apparently 10mm hose. It's very close to 3/8. I'm installing a water fuel separator that has 3/8 fittings. The 10mm seems to fit OK just a bit larger than 3/8 but it still grabs the...
