    Volvo AQ Trim Module

The problem is, there is no new one anymore. If there was I would absolutely buy it. Though, if I do make a new one, I will gladly make them available for anyone who wants one. Marine environment is pretty easy for these things, I'll do exactly what volvo did. I will just pour epoxy all around...

    Volvo AQ Trim Module

Does that module really just output the same as its input? I knew I could measure the sensor resistance myself. I just thought the module output something different and I needed to know the correlation between the input and output.

    Volvo AQ Trim Module

Hello everyone For those of you with AQ drives, I could use a bit of help. The trim sensor module part # 857534 on my boat is bad. The trim limit, and trailer (max lift) limit relays still work, but the gauge does not. I have already replaced the sensor. I have tested the gauge and know it is...

1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 Resto Begins

Well, sorry to say it but this project is not going to get finished. I ran into a great deal on a 22' Cobalt. Ended up costing less than the resto would have cost.

1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 Resto Begins

Thank you, that's great info. I'll order bigger rolls of glass. I plan to order the foam once I start laying the deck. I can't be sure I'll be ready for foam before the temperature cools too much. I'm fighting the clock here lol. I might be able to use the shop at work during the cold months...

1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 Resto Begins

Another question for you all. Maybe should ask in a separate thread. I want to put a larger fuel tank in. everywhere I look they don't provide a proper drawing. My stringer height is just under 7", I could of course raise it a bit, but I don't want to go too tall. The tanks all show a height...

1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 Resto Begins

I am about to order my fiberglass supplies. I ordered a small amount of Coosa for the transom and motor mounts. I might be ordering a bit too much fiberglass, but we'll see. 20 yards by 50" for each roll of chopped mat and 1708. 5 gallons of laminating resin, 5 gallons of finishing resin. A big...

Yes I do. Nothing is going to stop me from finishing this project.

So, I've decided to also put an additional layer of glass in the entire hull. Mostly to add some thickness and strength in case I grind a bit too much and create thin spots. Should I use 1708 for this?

    Rolling boat over

Sounds like some type of rotisserie is the best way. I think perhaps rather than rolling it over I might just use a pair of engine hoists and lift it as high as I can. Would I be correct to assume the stern tie down hooks and bow hook are strong enough for that?

    Removing section of bowrider

Your doing the same boat as me. Knowing this boat I would say you would probably want to have another way of attaching that area to the deck if you cut it away. I think the side of the hull will flex too much otherwise. Right now it connects to that front bench/box and provides that rigidity.

    Rolling boat over

I'm in the middle of my resto. Once I finish stripping everything out of the hull I would like to flip the boat over and fix the chips in the gell coat, and then add a fresh coat over the entire hull. For those who have done this, how did you manage to get the boat flipped over? It's a...

1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 Resto Begins

Had a couple hours after work today to continue on the teardown. I really hate those back to back seat boxes. What a pain it was to remove them, but I got the driver side box out now. All the decking in the center area of the boat is now removed. I'll tear down the stern section of the boat...

1982 Sea Ray SRV 197 I/O owners manual

Good luck with it. Is there a specific reason you want an owner's manual? It really won't be very useful for anything. If you're just looking for information about the engine, drive, steering or such than there is plenty of info online for that, or on this forum.

1982 Sea Ray SRV 197 I/O owners manual

Maybe try contacting SeaRay. They might be able to get you a digital copy. If you want an original, you might just have to watch eBay and hope one shows up.

1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 Resto Begins

Yes, my biggest fear right now. Last thing I want is to end up destroying the hull. I know it can be fixed, but to me it seems a patch just wouldn't have the same strength.

1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 Resto Begins

What technique do you all use to cut the deck up against the hull? I have been very nervous about accidentally cutting through the hull. So, I end up cutting about an inch away from the side of the hull.

1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 Resto Begins

Thats basically what I expected for mine, with Bayliner being one of the cheap boats. I am very surprised at the layups in my boat. Stringers are fully wrapped hand laid. Bulkheads unfortunately were just tabbed in, though still fairly strong and not breaking out very easily. When I started my...

1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 Resto Begins

Question for people who know about the manufacturing techniques used in the late 80's. I noticed that everything seems to be hand laid fiberglass. I always thought that at this time they relied on mostly a chopper gun. The stringers are clearly a woven cloth, and I can see the woven pattern on...
