Recently I've rebuild my trim cylinders and took some picture to show you how to do this. It's a fairly simple job and requires simple tools. Only special tool to use is to screw of the end cap. Part numbers 25-87400A 2 Trim cylinder O-ring kit. This is for one cylinder only. First clean the...

Mating upper and lower half Bravo One

I've just assembled my bravo drive and replaced the seals. When I mated the upper half to the lower half I noticed that there is a tiny gap at the back part. The part where the seals are (little oil seal, water passage and drive shaft) looks OK. Only to see when I hold a light at the other side...

    Best oil extractor

Buy a decent extractor like on the picture. Feed the smallest tube trough the dipstick and suck out the oil. Works best if u first warm up the engine.

Drive doesn't come up with the trim button but does with the trailer. Down is oke

Hello Guys, I have a question about the trim sender and trim limit switches. See the title of this topic. I suspect the trim switch is bad but which one? How can I test this? Drive is an Alpha One Gen II on a Mercruiser 3.0. Is it possible that one of the solenoids is bad? Again, how do I test...

    Broken Drain Plug Mercruiser 7.4

Yesterdag, when we pulled the boat out of the water to put it in storage, I asked the club members to put it on a pedestal and leave it outside for 30 minutes so I could drain my block first before put my boat inside. Removed the hoses from the manifolds (no drain plugs there), removed the big...

    Merc 140 no spark...

Re: Merc 140 no spark... Yup, coil is toast. This is how it works: + side on the coil is the blue lead coming from the key. Blue windings are the primary side of the coil with a few windings to ground via the points. The red part of the coil is connected just after the primary coil ends. Red...

    Removing c-clips on u-joints

Re: Removing c-clips on u-joints Nope, the clips mentioned are different. No holes at the end. And when you remove them they have the habit to jump to places where you never seek

GEAR OIL leak Mercury hp 2 stroke

Re: GEAR OIL leak Mercury hp 2 stroke No. Just replace in the same order as you remove it. Play in the prop is not the same as play in your drive shaft. I think the play you feel is just the prop. Just check if the prop is seated well. This is the tool: part number: 91-13664 Here you can...
