Where is the best place to find a manual for a novice for a 25 HP Johnson Seahorse? I have seen various manuals by 3rd parties, but am not sure which if any would be best. Please let me know where or who I might call.

I have a 1972 Johnson Seahorse 25 HP outboard motor.
It was painted army green all over and I am not sure if the problem is related to the paint or age.
The engine cranks fine, but...
I have a 25hp johnson sea horse motor that has been painted entirely in army green. i am having trouble because every label is painted over. I want to remove the green paint and leave the original paint on below. any suggestions?
