    friend has old merc shifter control box, i have a 60hp johnson hydro-electric drive shifter control box on my boat now. question is can i use the mercury electric shift switch in a johnson or does the mercury not have one?

    71' johnson 60hp thunking in forward

    just got a 60hp johnson hydro-electric drive had shifter dog looked at and was told problem was in the control box. problem is boat starts and runs excellent but after no wake zone i give it gas and it thunks every 3 to 4 seconds those thunks shake the boat it catches and resumes. frustrated...
