    Replacing clutch on my mini...

Finally getting ready to tackle the clutch on my '14 mini Cooper JCW. Failed after 80k miles, which apparently isn't unusual. Guessing they use the tears of mini owners as the friction material. Would like to have all parts on hand, and trying to figure out what to do while I'm in there...

    Starter angxt (?) ?

Check to see that you're using the correct bolts. At least on some 4.3s there's a horrible mishmash of metric/SAE (on the same damn block). Just close enough to strip out if you're using the wrong type.

Very Low Compessions on Mercruiser 5.0 MPI Engine. with Exhaust Manifold, Thermostat Housing Removed.

I'd pull the valve covers and turn the engine, see if the valves are moving. Could for sure be rusted open.

Easiest engine drop in replacement for 1986 MCM 470

U-joint shaft is the same as well. Op, *definitely* get a bobtail from a wrecked boat. Even a donor with a cracked block. The 4.3 blocks are easy to find, but all the stupid little parts that you'll need will either bankrupt you or slow you down and frustrate you.

06 mercruiser 4.3 no power to guages

Purple wire feeds the gauges and supplies ignition. If it runs (and also turns off, thanks TKS), your problem is probably there. Gauges are often (always?) daisy chained, so if the first gauge isn't powered, none of them will be.

    DIY - Canvas Enclosure

Your fabric-ing skills are so impressive. It would be interesting to see how many hours it takes you. Do you need supports or does it snap to existing structure?

Gear lube poured out of gimbal bellows (Alpha 1 Gen 2)

Rumor has it that you can drive a new seal farther down the shaft past the groove, though I haven't tried it. Guessing it could also be speedi sleeved.

Just a reminder that summer will be here soon...

And I have a million things to do to get everything ready. But today was too nice to waste being productive. Skiff started on the very first pull after a couple of months of rest. I was so surprised I didn't know what to do (the battery was very dead).

    OK I’ve had enough.

Looks like we're going to make it 2 years in a row without any measurable snow. There had never been a year without snow before last year. We DID have the wettest winter on record. All rain. 35'. Absolutely miserable. I would LOVE some snow.

    Engine replacement help…

No, I meant using the module as well. Trying to think about why it wouldn't work. Biggest issue I'd think is that it would get the rpms wrong. It would depend on the advance curve (dunno what the total is on both engines), would advance too soon on the V8 and also screw with idle (though maybe...
