    Johnson water jacket replacement. 1979 55hp

    Hi All, When installing the water jacket gasket should a sealant be used in conjunction with the fibre gasket? I have some Evinrude gasket sealer, and wondering if I should use it? Also is it recommended to use this on the bolt threads or some type of anti seize compound? Thanks for any info.

    Water running out of front exhaust cover

    I have a 1979 55hp Johnson. At full throttle there is water running/streaming out of the underside of the front exhaust housing at the top of the leg. Should This be a concern? The engine is cooling just fine and there is a good "pee" stream. Could this be an indication of a plugged cooling...

    Lubricating a new water pump impeller

    What is the best lubricant for a new impeller? I have heard grease and Vaseline but have also heard they may not be the best. Also on the water pump wear plate gasket is the gasket ok by itself or should the gasket be installed in conjunction with a gasket sealant. Thanks for any info. Steve
