    Transducer Anti-fouling Paint

What can/should be used on transducers to prevent marine growth? This year I had quite a bit of barnacle growth on my side-scan transducer. Is it OK to use bottomm paint???

    2001 Yamaha 200 HPDI

Opinions on a Pair of 2001 Yamaha 200 HPDI's.....~900hrs. Hear they require alot of maintenance: filters, fuel pumps, etc....besides the normal: plugs, water pump, etc. How about reliability and longevity? I am considering replacing twin '95 175 Johnsons, powerful but thirsty... Thoughts/opinions?

    '99 225 ox66 Compression Test

Considering the purchase of a pair of '99 225's. Not familiar w/ Yamahas and want to do a compression test while engines are mounted to palettes. Does someone have a schematic or a pic I could look at to indicate where I would connect the battery and where the starter solenoid is so I could use...

    '95 Twin Johnson 175's

I pulled the plugs at the end of last season when I checked the compression......did not notice anything strange. I understand the oil side of these pumps are not serviceable.......guess all I can check is for an air leak on the gas side. After the pump of before........when I pump the bulb up...

    '95 Twin Johnson 175's

I have a pair of subject motors. They have decent compression across all 12 cylinders, 95-105. Thermostats replaced last spring along w/ rebuilding all 12 carbs and new plugs. VRO's are still in use. For the most part the motors run well except the port shows an oily residue at the...

    Decarb

Would it be a good time to decarb right before winter storage? Planning on pulling the boat next Saturday for winter storage. Was thinking of decarbing the night before, let it sit overnight and then give them (Twin '95 Johnson 175's) a good run before pulling the boat on Saturday. Plan on...

    Exhaust Discharge

if 1 cylinder wasn't firing I don't think I would get full RPM's out of it. a float valve not sealing would be more of a idle/low RPM issue.....correct? I plan on doing a compression check after the season.....will have a look at the plugs. I'm guessing the plugs might indicate a non sealing...

    Exhaust Discharge

I have twin '95 175 Johnsons. Both engines run well, start well, idle well, reach ~5200RPM. VRO's are still in use. The port engine has a discharge coming out of the exhaust.......see pic below. Seems to smoke more than the stb motor.........didn't think much of it until I noticed this...

    Yamaha ox66's

I have been doing some research in purchasing early 2000 ox66 200's to replace my aging/thirsty '95 175 Johnsons. Looking for twin set-ups ultimately. I'm finding that the general consensus is that these are GREAT motors and the only time they seem to come up for sale is when one has "1 down...
