I better attach some new pics since I'm here. Got these console fronts installed last week. Then I started working on the metal frame for the bow seats. Since my consoles aren't even and it was all bent up, I cut it apart and I am riveting back together plus reinforcement. Pics to come.

Yes I am hoping to land some big fish on my wide open deck! Definitely didn't want a 16ss when I was searching due to space concerns. My uncle had a whaler dual console 19 and now a new Grady 21 which are both great. But, I am thinking I am going to like the extra space to move around, even...

Let's Go Phillies! Red October is here. Couldn't get these console pics uploaded from Wednesday. Have both cut and primed and starting paint. Then today was a big workday. Got the splashwell installed as well as the various things underneath. Two bilge pump exits, one new, the gas vent hose...

You're right about those corners. I have some old kitchen towels that I've been using to cover the corners usually to soften the points.

Its been a slow month of boat work but I realized I should attach some update pics. The day that I got the most work done I forgot to stop and take good pictures so here is what I got. My wooden riser immediately had splitting so I ended up building a new one out of aluminum and I've also now...

I bought four cans of 3m 80 adhesive for this thinking that way I was covered and could return 1-2 of them as extras....... I promptly sprayed down all four and I have had to go back for a fifth thats waiting to finish the last 1-2 feet on the bow. Not my most cost effective material choice for...

Agree with this. I have been cleaning my rib channels continuously since my teardown. I used a bent butter knife as the tool for the channels, and have been blowing the pressure washer down either side of the ribs. I think the advice above about using the magnet for this purpose is genius and...

Yes I am also paranoid about a lot of things going wrong and ruining the project. But you also need to balance that with having a good plan and executing the best you can. I also thought about what you are commenting on and my rationale was that the foam boards that are laying flat on the...

Getting started on putting together the captains console. Any tips on how to clean up my windshield? I was thinking about masking off the glass and spraying the frame with self etching primer then a white spray paint. And, does anyone have a source for the T bolts? And, I think I lost the...

I am using 3/4 ACX plywood for the floor. I am a big guy and it's solid. They say the factory used 1/2 and it can have some spring to it which I did not want.

Putting up some new pics I have been hard at work.Still trying to splash in 2023. Last piece of Deck cut. Not perfect symmetry but it stands on solid. I described doing the pink foam under the floor to my wife as: "A big puzzle where you have to fit rectangular boards into a triangular space...

Floor piece shown is already installed so I just checked the threading on the t-nuts, and they gripped the bolts perfectly. I will note to be delicate when I am threading these bolts though. Thanks for the heads up. Here's how I did it that seemed to work great. Note I am not an expert or a...

I immediately started worrying about if I should have hit the drain openings under the middle of the ribs one more time with the butter knife! Then I thought... Good enough need to get on the water! Onwards

Happy Fourth of July everyone. Thanks for the thumbs ups I've been doing much better with 5200 management for the floor install vs the transom (lol). Keeping a tube in the freezer in a bag has been keeping it ready to go for me. T nuts for the Captains chair on this piece of floor. More foam...

Haha I hope the anode lasts a long time too! Are you saying it's big for the size of the boat? I was actually thinking that I should buy an extra or two of the same size in case I need one down the line and I can't get one that fits the holes in drilled.

We have a transom! Got some help on Saturday and made a few mistakes but it is rock solid. A friend that works for Boeing pitched in for a hour or so on the air hammer to do the solid riveting for the knee brace. Used all new 316 stainless steel bolts and still have 5200 stuck to me everywhere...

Thanks SHSU. The low height console steering was uncomfortable for me on my shakedown runs with the Chrysler so I made up that way to raise the it and hopefully I will be able to both sit and stand with the captains chair I have. That said, I've already realized that I should have made my riser...
