    198x SS-150 rebuild

it may be too late. but check around for a mobile glass blasting company. I found a guy, came to the house and did the boat in the driveway. only charged a couple hundred. well worth it in my opinion. I just wish I would have done that from the beginning lol.

Just removed the bunks and in process of converting to a roller trailer. Was kind of wondering if I need to add additional rollers to the back two pivot arms. They come setup for up to 4 sets per arm. Thinking this to account for the additional weight of the motor. Thoughts?

I'm really surprised how far a little paint goes a long way. I was really getting worried that I did not buy enough because its nowhere to be found not. has been out of stock for months. 10oz of paint did that side with one coat and about an ounce to spare.

yeah that gentleman's agreement is probably worthless. It sounds like you will regret if you sell personally.

There is a lot of confusion around the iron duke thing. They were almost identical motors as far as looks but none were iron dukes. well I guess its possible that someone mated an iron duke to the Mercruiser outdrive somewhere along the lines but it was not the original setup

I cant say weather or not you are making a mistake but that "appears" to be one hell of a nice boat for 5k. I hope you find what you are looking for. someone will definitely enjoy that beauty.

    198x SS-150 rebuild

I didn't have that much corrosion on mine but I did have a bunch of unnecessary holes. I just got a sheet of aluminum and skinned over the transom. It wasn't that much and gave me some peace of mind. Not trying to convince you one way or another. just another option.

honestly I really should have just had a paint shop do this. Painting without a proper booth or just a clean area in general is such a PITA.

Also picked up a 700w JL audio amp, (2) 7.8" speakers, and (2) 10" Subs to round out the sound system. Its sounds incredible right now with only one of the JL subs hooked up so I might just stick with one. Really need to see how it sounds on the water before I determine that part. I am really...

All Right, Took a little break from the boat for a bit but now getting back at it. Started by coating the entire boat with Interprotect 2000e epoxy primer. Now I just got the first of 2 coats of Interlux Pre Kote primer which after a sand, should give me a pretty smooth surface to finally lay...

    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

So after wasting a bunch of time, energy, and money on chemical strippers and the failed process of stripping the haul for paint, I decided to just hire someone to blast it. Man, I wish I would have done this a long time ago. Guy showed up to the house with his mobile blast rig and did the whole...

Anyone have a Super Sport with a ski locker?

The subfloor is 5/8" Coosa Bluewater 26, Its topped with the best 24oz marine carpet I could find. The boat is primarily used for swimming and cruising and I like carpet for the feel on bare feet. I know most people are against carpet but I like it. I went with the coosa because it doesn't...

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

I'm sure the heat does help. I kept the temp in my garage around 70. I'm not sure that was warm enough. I used it as a secondary precaution as I replaced all the rivets that were currently leaking. Honestly though, replacing the rivets was way easier than the amount of time I spent cleaning and...
