Anyone have a Super Sport with a ski locker?

I’m getting close to putting floors back in to my SS. Does anyone here have a 16 or 18’ one with a ski locker? I’m contemplating adding a rod locker that has pvc pipe tubes running under the floor (to the bow)

My questions are for those who have ski lockers or who have built rod lockers in this location.

a) does it have a tray/tub or pan? Or open to ribs?
b) if tub or tray, how do you drain them, simply gravity drain to keel?
c) when the bilge fills with rain, does the locker fill also? The depth is tapered. The vee is deeper towards the bow.
d) does the lid close over drainage channels so water doesn’t simply flow into tub or tray?

I’d like to incorporate one but I don’t want to spend time and money on something that is limited. (I’m thinking of lighting it too)
Thanks in advance

I added a ski locker to my 18' holiday (really its more for life jacket storage). Mine is open ribs on the bottom but is boxed in on all sides with aluminum. I pulled the locker parts from a donor boat. I have yet to have enough water in the boat to reach the locker. I have a pretty good bilge pump so if that happened it would probably be a bad day. My lid is just the traditional wooden slat setup. here are some pics of how I handled it. personally I like the open bottom so water doesn't get trapped anywhere.

That is excellent. Thank you very much for the photographs. I think on my boat it’s going to be much shallower. Especially towards the stern. Which is why I was concerned that water would build in this area.

Is that flooring nautolex? Looks like a nice job

The subfloor is 5/8" Coosa Bluewater 26, Its topped with the best 24oz marine carpet I could find. The boat is primarily used for swimming and cruising and I like carpet for the feel on bare feet. I know most people are against carpet but I like it. I went with the coosa because it doesn't absorb water and does not rot. If I have to replace the carpet every 10 years or so, Its worth it to me. My whole plan for this project was to rebuild this boat so it would last a really long time, hopefully last another 50 years or so :)
