Do you mean you had it out for the first time after the cooling system overhaul? Describe the cooling system overhaul. What was done?

    Mercruiser 5.0 Mpi issue

I do too it was nasty, then I came to my senses. But what does that have to do with QBhoy's issue?

    Mercruiser 5.0 Mpi issue

I've owned this motor since new in 2002 and I've not experienced that. It has 1,620 hours. I've replaced cap/rotor every few years, that's all. I'll follow along.

Looking to stabilize my alum boat

When I was late twenties and had a 14' Alumacraft I thought all of the rocking was exciting. Even enjoyed the challenge of rough waters. Now not so much lol.

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

I'm wanting to the same thing. My knees are telling me I need to stop crawling around in the back of this thing.

Looking to stabilize my alum boat

One of the downsides to smallish aluminum boats, especially riveted. Notice your chine is rounded lending itself to less side to side stability. It's done that way because aluminum is most strong when bent. Other than what Scott says above, not much can be done.

    2008 bayliner 192 discovery

Fairly heavy cuddy, 225hp I assume is a 4.3, kicker motor to boot, might need to drop to a 19" 3 blade. My best guess.

Overheat after high RPM run 350 MPI from 2001 with bravo one

Exhaust shutters have dislodged and are blocking exhaust ways in drive. At lower speeds the relief ports are enough to handle it. At WOT they cannot. Check your exhaust shutters. Exact same thing happened to mine but I'm talking Alpha 2 so not sure the same.

I was going to use Rust-Oleum Topside Paint, but then I accidentally discovered COMET cleaner..

I had to Comet wash my car after it sat under a Bradford pear in the fall. Yeah Comet will do the job. You wanna follow up with a good polymer or wax though.

Is this trim end cap usable?

Idk, I bought an SEI replacement for $160 and am very happy FWIW.

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Very personal decision based on health, age, retired or not, etc. One thing we can't change is time and it is indeed marching on. Tasks that I was exited about learning/doing 20 years ago now seem daunting. I'm finding the older I get the more the moon/stars have to line up before the boat...

Help value a Smoker Craft I’m looking at

Do a good inspection and come back and tell us what you found. Rotten floor? Transom flexing? Evidence of patches on rivet seams? Motor run on muffs ok?

Why is finding information on boats so difficult?

Looks like an awesome find! Stick with it. You're dealing with the recreational market where 90% of the clientele is people with expendable income. All wants, very few needs. They ain't built to automotive standards.

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

Install the exhaust tube instead of the bellows, much easier. That is...assuming this is an Alpha 2. Not sure about others.

    Spare battery

FWIW I added a second battery and two mounting locations, port and starboard but did not wire it up. The beauty of this is it allows it to be moved for ballast based on load. If needed I can run jumper cables to the port location or swap it out. Yes it takes a little effort but I love the...

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

Also, if you're going in for major surgery...how much side to side play is in the drive? Assess this situation before going any further. It would be a shame to go this far down the road and then a few years later wishing you had replaced the gimbal ring and/or steering lever when you had it...
