    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration What the heck DJ it's only money, from what you said in an earlier post the wide vinyl and carpet are pricey. Check out Home Depot, last time I was in there I found a real good assortment of aluminum extrutions, in colors, anodized and polished.

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Hey DJ. I have found the best way to lay the flooring down is to pre fit it exactly where you want it then put heavy weights, ( batteries, etc) on one half, length or width wise which ever works the best. Pull back the free side glue and secure...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Hey DJ, I have used the vinyl on the hull sides on all the SC I have done, and never had a problem. This time I am using spray 90 and it is way better than the previous glues I used.

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration I'm a little late to this party, but on all three SS's I have layed vinyl on the floor and just left the rivets above the way yours were. They were hardly noticable when looking at the floor, and unless you were in bare feet you wouldn't know you...

    Sierra Water Shutters

I'm working on my 1986 4.3 lx, Alpha, the origional water shutters were pooched and I had new ones ordered, they were substituted for Sierra 18-2732. These are a one piece design, when I push them in the y pipe it seems to collapse them slightly, causing them to distort and then they won't...

    Gimbal bearing install

I am running a 1986 4.3 lx 205 with an Alpha outdrive. I have a gimbal bearing from a Quick Silver transom kit. There is a yellow dot on one side, does this go inboard or outboard when installed in the housing. Thanks in advance.

As B2 says MBS is incurable

The lake we camp, fish, and boat is fed by a narrow creek, ( where we camp) the fishing in the creek is really good, but I am uneasy about taking the 18 up the creek for fear of running aground. I have been on the hunt for a 12 too 14 ft tinnie. They are real hard to find in my area and carry a...

    4.3 cooling question

The other day I got the carb reuilt on the 1986 4.3 LX 205, and got it fired up. It runs real nice. I had it on muffs and after running it for a bout 5 or 6 minutes noticed that the starboard side manifold and hoses were consireably warmer than the port, probably 30 to 40 degrees. What could...
