What would make a flywheel hard to spin? Starter won't spin it.

On a 4-stroke when the valves timing is off, yeah maybe On a 2-stroke?? I can only see this happening if the (intake reeds are seized solid/melted-on???) but then it would be in a scenario as your post #5

I'd love to hear his theory behind this (don't ever go back to this guy)

Most times these head gaskets can be reused

    85 force propeller replacement

IF the motor is not for a looooong time in the water; NO OR shave down the Anode Yup, just the two screws and wiggle off the shaft.

    85 force propeller replacement

I would of removed the anode , that would of saved the hassle of doing what you did

The 4" diameter is force prop. the 4.25 would be for Merc. and others?? The gap between the prop would be a problem IF this was a flow-through lower-unit due to the fumes leaking through the gap. But this is not so for that reason; you'd be okay Now just hoping you're not picking-up fish-lines...

1990 Dual Force 120s one side showing 16.7v at speed with dual batteries

My solution was a solar panel charged my deep cycle & my starting battery was charged by the motor with a rectifier/regulator; never had a problem after that

1990 Dual Force 120s one side showing 16.7v at speed with dual batteries

As jerryjerry mentioned don't use a deep cycle & regular starting battery, they have different charging rate ( absorb voltage) Your best solution(in my opinion) is to get a rectifier/regulator that can handle the max output of the stator, their relative cheap & available ($40) This will solve...

85 force lower unit drain plug

You can also; Attach a "ground" wire to the block & use that to ground the white wires to kill the engine

Bizarre starter behavior (won't "bench test" on motor)

Pull the cap & check brushers or brush springs, the contact overload

Bizarre starter behavior (won't "bench test" on motor)

There's a logical explanation for it & lots of ideas to diagnose Does the starter turn the engine with the plug out?
  15. The Force power

Bizarre starter behavior (won't "bench test" on motor)

Sounds like a "weak/faulty" starter and/or bad ground wire

Force 125 Trim Motor working, but I think it should go higher

So true, if it wasn't for those pesky plug gasket/0-rings that never completely seal :{ I think also any failures (upper driveshaft bearing) are that the oil-level is not kept to its max

Won’t stay running 125 force pestoline

Okay, just checking if we're on the same page :D The timing has to change, when turning the "screw" the bolt-style "screw" causes the ends to get closer or further apart that in turn moves the position(rotates) of the trigger-assembly
