    Fuel leak under flywheel?

Yes, compression is alot higher than vacuum. I was just thinking in the suction side of the case. It does go both ways from downstroke to upstroke.

mercruiser 140 low compression & cracked exhaust manifold

Recheck the surface after you get it cleaned up properly. Looks like gasket residue on there to me.

    Oil pan size

It was designed the way it is because it needed it. Cutting down the capacity can starve the motor of needed lubrication. Keep the 7 quart pan please.

    Replacement Ladder

It's hard to find a ladder to fit the current setup. The mfg change the designs as often as we change our underwear.

    3M 5200/4200 Clean-up Strategies

yeah, today we put a light bulb about a foot and a half under there. At the end of the day the 5200 was running out/down. Sh**.....And the bad part is the strut is located under the fuel tank in the aft berth. We have a younger guy who has to lay behind the tank, on his side and reach with one...

    3M 5200/4200 Clean-up Strategies

I hate 5200. We currently have a strut we had to re-do and it's been three weeks, it's still soft. Not looking forward to removing it and doing it with 4200. I suppose it's a bad batch but still. Any time something is bedded with 5200 it's a bear to take off.

    3M 5200/4200 Clean-up Strategies

Yeah, I clean/wipe off the excess right away. The sealant is still under the washer or bolt so it'll still seal.

    Are we in trouble?

Even if they put a new long block, there's still exhaust manifolds and stuff that could be damaged. Then there is the plumbing on the boat that's probably damaged. Good to walk away.....

    Carb choice.

Exactly. As a teenager the first one I opened up was scary. After I got a look inside, I thought what the heck? There's not much in here to go wrong. A kit and checks of the specs, good to go. I was 14 then. Now 65. rebuilt to many count since then.

    Are we in trouble?

I'd also inquire on who rebuilt the motor? A quality shop/rebuild place you should be good to go. If they did it at their shop, are the any good?

    Missing drive oil bottle ???

Yeah , I have 5 boats in the backyard at the moment. Also the duck boat at the cabin. And the one I'm restoring at the shop. She don't say much but I suppose it won't be long.....

Small engine replacement. LoveJoy shaft connector. How does it remove?

Get the motor, check the shaft and if you have to just get a new Lovejoy and mate it to the old Lovejoy. Use half of each one.
