    Impellers

That’s a beautiful example of why they should be for planed maintenance And would make a great framed photo for a few people I know that have strange to me taste in art.

    Pet surgery cost😮

My vet offers that service as well and it’s definitely better all around. I hope his office doesn’t change much when he retires. I’ve had the same vet for 35 years. I had a black lab that went though the same as yours at only 11. Her organs just started failing one after another. A good friend...

    1990 2 stroke evinrude 40 hp

Give it a very good look over and do compression check on it and if it’s good strike a rock bottom price for a non running motor.

Need your opinion about replacing the original Reed Valves in my 1986 Evinrude 30 hp.

All good suggestions but If it’s getting where you need to go and more importantly back home again I would just leave as is swap plugs when needed and enjoy it as long as you can. All the Best to Ya.

    Pet surgery cost😮

Who know maybe we will get to see are old friends again some day. It is hard to to lose our best buds and it never gets any easier. I still think about my favorite dog all the time and she’s been gone for over 20 years. I love all my dogs but that one was hands down the best of the best.

    Evinrude 50 impeller

My grandfather taught me to never loan tools to anyone. I guess that’s why I still have all his. His most valuable lesson was to never loan your friends money. Sadly I had to learn that lesson the hard way.

'85 7.5hp, rebuilt water pump. Still issues with water flow to engine

As mentioned you need more water. The pump should be completely submerged.

    Submersible dock lights.

My boss had a light on his dock and the fishing was great. Lots of bait would come to the light and it was almost a guarantee that would get smashed by a big Snook right at the shadow line of the light. That was back in the 80’s and he had yellowish sodium light.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Well now you know what you have and don’t have to wonder whats going on under there. It’s always nice when you don’t have to wonder if this trip will be the last. I have seen a few boats towed in with the transom missing and a couple that still had the outboard hanging on by the steering...

    40hp Dead Top Cylinder

Endless the carb is physically damaged there is not much that can go wrong that a through cleaning and rebuild can’t fix. Hopefully you didn’t run it like that for very long and damage anything as no fuel = no oil. But you won’t know that until you pull the head and take a peak.

    40hp Dead Top Cylinder

A valuable lesson I have learned on here over the years is Racers knowledge is worth its weight in gold. If you want his help you need to answer the questions with findings and or results and not more questions. I could go into a rabbit hole trying to explain what I mean but in a nut shell if...

Booze and boat don’t always mix well.

This guy told the cops just before he was arrested that he had made a navigation error and didn’t see the beach. 😂

Any saving the engine? I’m devastated

I think you can do it your self. It’s not a complicated job. Should be done at least every 5 years regardless of use. The impeller dries out and becomes hard and brittle with time. Broken fins can cause blockage and be a pain to find and remove. It’s worth doing the regular maintenance.

    I think I killed my TE60TLENE

Head down to a marina or boat ramp and start asking around for a reputable shop or rebuilder. Word of mouth recommendations far out weight and advertising you will find. Jmo Best of luck.
