    Are there any kind of I.D. numbers or Markings of any kind on lower units I have a 78 115hp V4 and I'm shopping around for a lower unit. The problem is that they all look pretty much the same. buying used off of Craigslist is enough of a gamble. I would hate to buy one that wasn't compatible...

    This is my first post to the forum, but I've found some good info here over the years. My question is: I have a Johnson 115ETL78C V4 crossflow. Will a lower unit from a 78 Johnson 150hp (don't know model# yet) work on my motor?
