Acting like a spun prop hub but it's not. What do I try next?

This was my initial thought. Can't rule out a pooched motor at this point OP: you need to pull the drive, inspect and get eyes on the coupler

    Carburetor Issues, Dripping Carbs...

Good plan FYI that is a mercarb, most likely reman from sierra. Plenty of new, oem and aftermarket kits available for rebuild. Being new, from sierra there's a chance it's not properly tuned. As in, did you set idle speed/air mixture or just plug n play?

    1977 302.

I wouldn't bother. The ford is a solid engine and under proper care will last a long time. Ime ford engines are more suitable to extreme conditions than gm, ymmv GM based marine motors are ubiquitous, plenty of options/parts available new and used, ford is becoming rare for marine power...

    Axius Joystick Question . . .

Yes, but the clutch can/will fail at times. Probably the number 1 issue I've dealt with on bravo drives. Seems to be mainly a gear oil issue. Nothing but high performance ime, other brands/styles cause issues Pretty easy inspection, don't even have to pull the drive to get eyes on the clutch...

    1977 302.

Would run the ford as long as it's good. Wonderful engine that runs smoother than any gm ime Once the 302 dies, which won't be soon, then you can talk swap

    STUCK 6.2L MPI

You didn't check fluids, hook up the battery and try to start normal? Sounds as if you forgot procedure and assumed the worst, turning engine over by hand after two years sitting?

Light u-joint noise hard turn starboard

This means statistically you will not find a bad u joint. Keep up with the annual inspection, service and repair OP: remove boat from water. Pull the drive and inspect issue. U joints do fail from water intrusion and on their own

    2000 Bayliner Misfire?

Your issue is fuel related, good troubleshooting info provided I would focus more on fuel delivery prior to the pump. Replacing the fuel pump and fittings/line is apprapo but looking, getting eyes on the tank is good too. A vacuum test works wonders under load

Is 2000 RPM on muffs okay?

No You'll be fine. Best test is to set the tach engine running on muffs. Then compare with a shop tach first on muffs then in the water, full rpm range

Preferred method to fog a Cat equipped engine?

No two stroke oil, no fogging oil Just run it on merc stabilizer in the fuel tank and your good Plus any annual/routine maintenance, of course

Mercruiser 4.3 not starting when hot

You need to check for spark when the engine doesn't start. You've pretty much ruled out a lack of fuel but also, it could be too much fuel, e.g. flooded engine from faulty carb leaking down or something else Bring an in line spark tester with you to check spark, needs to be bright blue/white...
