    looks like the style of your transom is different then mine? My boat is a 1986 but in any event if I end up replacing the wood, whatever it takes to replace will get done. One day atta time.

    Watermann, thanks for that picture. If I'm seeing it right, looks like your picture has shrunk down the splash pan from left to right.. correct? Do you have any others of the transom splash pan removed maybe sitting on the ground or something?

    Dizzy.. question for you. Am I seeing your pics correctly? Did you have to remove your entire motor splash pan to insert the new plywood? My transom has a cap accross the top that looks like it's all one piece like molded/welded/connected to the splash well. I have the same boat as you I believe.

    Yes, it seems to be ablative paint. The owner was using this in salt water. The color looks like factory beige or cream color and I know nothing about if the decals were installed by the previous owner.

    I don't have to get inside.. If someone comes to check it out my brother hides on the other side of the boat and makes the motor sounds so the visitor thinks the motor is running.

    about 100 years ago my Dad use to hang an extension light in the cabin of our old 37 ft wood hull boat to keep moisture from building up overnight. Never had an issue back then.
