    The Tin Mule Resto

I don't see how the new hold could hurt. It wouldn't be a bad idea to fill the old one, but the axles look cast to me, night be hard to weld. You could always braze if need be (assuming you have a torch). I don't think filling the old hole is a must, It would just give it a little more strength.

You will love a mig if you get one, I don't really touch a stick until I get over 1/4". And I suck an stick....but a MIG really works well for thinner work. shielding gas doesn't work so hot in the wind however. I prefer stick to fluxcore MIG, but then again I don't use it much...

    The Tin Mule Resto

Looks like you are moving along Sam. On the stick welding I am out. I can kind of glob stuff together, but I am best at a MIG. Very easy, you might think about picking one up if you can. A good one will do everything from 20 gauge to 3/16" I am a Lincoln guy but there are a lot of other...

    Rub Rail Restoration??

You can still find the aluminium rails, but they are pricey and the shipping is usually really high (because they ship freight). You can also get a lot of the inserts, more so than the aluminum part. The semi-rigid is probally the cheapest option if you can't save your aluminum. I looked at...

1976 Tom Boy Boat, 1976 40 HP Johnson Outboard and who knows what Trailer

Our State just values them based on a depreciated cost, using the original sales cost. Retail, which means both Miss Morgan and Fuggly are almost worthless according to the state of OK. The only way I have found to get a reasonable amount of insurance is to have a marine surveyor assess their...

1976 Tom Boy Boat, 1976 40 HP Johnson Outboard and who knows what Trailer

Its a moisture cure from what I can tell, so It might be rock hard by now. The down fall is once you open a tube it will get hard. You can slow that down putting it in the freezer....ask me how I know...ice cream, 5200.....
