Thoughts on aftermarket exhaust manifold and riser parts

Looks like I may need to replace exhaust parts on my 1999 5.7L BIII Rinker. I noticed that there are several aftermarket players out there. Any good/bad/indifferent experiences out there? Will be running fresh water only. Brands: Osco Barr Sierra Aqua Power GLM

    Appears to be hydrolocked

1999 5.7 liter with a BIII drive. Fresh water cooled. Just got back from the boat launch, engine would not turn over. Ran fine on muffs yesterday, didn't turn off the water until about a minute after shutting the boat down. I know you can't run the hose on a jetski engine while it is not...

    50hp Johnson/8hp Evinrude winterizing

Johnson 50 hp model #J50DTLEDC Evinrude 8hp model #E8RLESR I believe both are late 80s, early 90s engines. My father in-law and I need to winterize his fishing boat motors for the first time. He has always kept them in his heated garage until now. I looked up the winterizing procedure...

Attaching a sail to increase drift speed?

Has anyone got any ideas on how to harness the power of the wind to help increase the drift speed of my 23" fiberglass bowrider powerboat? The lake I go fishing in (Lake St Clair in Michigan) has typical winds of 5-10 mph during the summer and I like to drift for Walleye with crawler harnesses...

    Homemade PWC stand?

I have a 1999 SeaDoo SPX that needs an engine rebuild. I am thinking that I can build a stand for the PWC out of 2x4s and caster wheels from Harbor Freight on the cheap to work on it in my garage over the winter. Has anyone build one like this? Any plans out there I can use?

Should I replace my exhaust manifolds?

I have a 12 year old 350 cid thunderbolt engine on my 23' bowrider. I have run it in freshwater since purchasing it last year, but I believe it has been in brackish water most of its life. Does it make sense to proactively change them out prior to failure, or should I just stick to the moto of...

I have a 1999 23' Rinker Captiva open bow with a 350 I/O (250hp) and a Bravo3 drive (the counter rotating dual prop), it makes for great fun on the family boating front, but I am a meat fishing guy(usually Perch) that is trying to figure out the best way to get my boat to be able to troll down...

    Dead in the water

After drifting for several hours, I forgot to lower the out drive unit before starting the engine. Ran the engine for a few minutes with the trim all the way up before realizing it was up. Lowered the drive, shifted into forward and started on my way. I accidentally pulled the safety lanyard...
