Question before I start tearing apart carburetors.

Don't drop the hammer when on the muffs. There is zero resistance and you can really damage the engine that way. As for fuel leak, find out where it comes from and fix it, before you do anything else. It's not like a car where where the fuel leaks onto the road. It leaks into the boat! As for a...

    Need help

It looks like a fiberglass bottom , so you might want to think about not drilling through but instead have the transducer flat on top of the fiberglass ( through hull instead of through the hull). another option would be a faring block.

    winter cover

Costco sells 2packs of 12x16 foot brown and silver very heavy duty tarps for like $18. These tarps have lasted me easily for 3 seasons. The two tarps easily cover my 22 foot Islander. If you build a wooden frame similar to what is used to wrap a boat or a tent like frame and set it on top you...

What size socket wrench fits my spark plugs?

The plug that is in there might not be the proper one for your engine. Yamaha is a very good company and a plug socket not fitting should be a red flag as to whether the plug was just shoved in there because it was what was available when last the plugs were changed. Check out your manual or...

What size socket wrench fits my spark plugs?

These outboards usually come with a small toolkit and there is a sparkplug socket in it. It usually is a 14 millimeter socket. If the socket itself is too fat, you should try a chainsaw socket. Those are often thinner. the plug you need is a Ngk DPR6EB-9 There are a few setups that need an 18...

    Covid!

I have had it like 5 times, but it never was more than a slight cough. I only found out every time because of my grand kids. I self tested with one of those home test kits. I did not want to pass it on to them.

    Nobody fishing?

Consider yourself lucky. At least you did not have to deal with laker slime on the floor of the boat. Around here on Lake Ontario, we call lake trout "slimers" and mostly do our best not to catch them. They usually are in the 5 to 20+ pound range and are a last resort for charter boat captains...

I did another thing, ha ha ha I can’t wait 😁

My father took a mauser from a german soldier in worldwar 2, I still have it. Those 8mm (really 7.92) carabins are as heavy as they are precise. It is hard to get ammo so I hardly ever use it, but they are hard to beat.

    The End

I fish Lake Ontario. When I still owned a rig with an outboard engine, I delayed winterizing until the beginning of December. When I changed to a 3 liter mercruiser, I usually just drained all the water out, but went on fishing and again did not winterize until the beginning of December. That...

    Tie down caliper mounting bracket

I have ordered most of my trailer parts from trailerparts.com. None of it has ever caused me any problems. The price difference may be the cheap crap made in China as opposed to quality inspected material from USA.

Need help with dirty stubborn pontoons

This may sound crazy and weird, but I have had amazing success with a product called "spray nine" for the oily residues. It is soap on steroids. You spray it on and let it do its thing for half an hour and then scrub it off. There is another product called "Lysol advanced power clinging gel" It...
