    Starter brace location?

    96 4.3 merc.. Anyone ever use a starter brace? Where does it connect on the engine block? Looks like the only thing close is the drain plug, but my starter is too short and stops about 2" before the plug.. Should I look for a longer starter or something if I want to use a brace?

    Strange trim issues...

    Gonna try to keep this short. Old pump would go up but now down. The down switch would just click and after hitting it about 30 times the pump would finally run, but the trim would NOT lower. Replaced the pump. Now the Down switch runs every time I hit it, but I'm not even getting a click out...

    Broken starter bolt hole.. yup cracked.. fix?

    So the hole where the bolt goes in to hold the starter on my 4.3 mercruiser is broken.. Like split in half so I actually have a chunk of metal in my hand off the block that has half the threads for the the starter bolt in it.     4.3 wont turn over after new fuel/water filter

    Where are the hydraulic trim's check valves?

    I've been doing hours of research trying to figure out why the hydraulic motor runs but the trim wont go down. I think it has to do with the check valves from everything I read. I just don't know where they are located as I'm new to all this.

    1996 boat has a mercruiser 4.3.. Goes up fine, but when I try to put it down it'll just "click, click" then sometimes it'll have a "humming" sound coming from it like it does when its going up, but doesn't move. Thoughts? hydrolic fluid low?
