well, turns out the Nest camera is really crappy at motion detecting. Three of them within 15 feet down there this morning and not activating the recording.
So, looks like i'm going to start shopping for a regular trail cam.

as far as sizing/locations - unless you are doing a show piece to a restore to original this is the time to get what you want. what fits you. People were shorter in the 70's....
