    Getting rid of the relays

I'll have to check the exact model, but in general these actuators are in the range of 8-10 amps 100-125 watts. IIRC, my Formula had similar actuators without relays playing 'middle-man'.

    Getting rid of the relays

I think the relay salesperson came through the boat industry about 15 years ago. As I think about the boats that I've owned, newer models have relays in places were previously there were none. :ROFLMAO:

    Getting rid of the relays

I literally use the actuator about 5 times during a season (when they are working). I don't recall if there is a connector face gasket/seal, but the relays are in a small electrical box within the big electrical box. I'll try to get some water-proof relays . . . Otherwise, I was thinking of...

    Getting rid of the relays

A contactor seems to be a heavy duty relay. I think the regular relays are failing due to dampness in the electrical box, as well as infrequent use. Perhaps they are not 100% water proof . The drawing calls for an automotive relay, nothing special. I’ll have to do some testing with my multi-...

    Getting rid of the relays

I have an actuator-driven seat at the stern of my boat. It is a wide back-to-back seat that can lay flat via the actuator. The switch is at the helm and the wiring goes to a set of relays (2 of the 5-pin automotive style). When I replace the relays, they last for about 1 year. Then they...

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Yes, and IIRC, the new style sea water pumps are good for 300 hours between impeller changes.

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Are you having the dealer do the work because the boat is under warranty? Maybe time to take matters into your own hands

    Getting New Knees . . .

One good thing is that the Admiral is booking the extra legroom seats when we fly, so I can stretch my legs out more. We just flew to Charleston for the weekend and the extra room was quite helpful for my knees. Not sure I'll get the same when we go to CA in a few weeks.

Maybe my turn for new boat time

The pump action seems normal. I'm thinking your water pump is a pressure pump, as are many in boat domestic water systems. With the breaker on, the pump will go on to achieve a certain amount of pressure in the plumbing lines (usually 45 psi) and then stop. If there is no water in the tank or...

    Mercruiser Engine Serial Number Decoding

Not sure there is much in the S/N that can be decoded, so usually you have to have a second source of verification, as was done in the posts above.

    Serious Hard-Top Structural Failure – Chaparral 267 SSX (2025)

Yes, and I would imagine that being outside the USA (where Chaparral is based) complicates the matters. I'm going to send you another PM.

    Water in exhaust manifolds

Intake manifold or the intake manifold gasket would be my next guess. The stem cleaning is evidence of water entering during the intake stroke. GM engine blocks have the front portion of the intake manifold act as the cooling water cross-over.

Water in floatation foam under the deck?

A few things to look for . . . cracking or discoloring of the stringers and/or bulkheads Infrared camera After a cool temperature night, see if the boat sweats in certain areas of the hull as the temperature warms in the morning. Areas of the hull that remain cool may be signs of retained...
