    Facr---If flywheel key is sheared the timing light does NOT show that.

    Are you pushing the key in and holding it in while cranking it over?----Simpler to do and the same as spraying starter fluid in there.--Timing at idle is when throttle plates open,------Timing at idle really does not matter and will show correct even with a sheared flywheel key.

    I would install a seal kit on this 50 year old motor.---In neutral the lever under the carburetor should be vertical.----And 21-23/32 in neutral is correct.

    Removing the lower carburetor may make it easier for you.-----Have done this procedure many times without removing the carburetor.-----Taping the screw to a long screwdriver worked for me.

    Doubt that optical ignition was used on 200 HP model.----Mainly used on the 150 / 175 model 60 degree V-6 models.

    The pin may have fallen out on your workshop floor.----For me it would be ----" DARN I have to take it apart again "----I have taken failed motors apart and measured the film of sealer to be 0.008" and it should be 0.001" or less.

    There is a wee pin in the block,----A hole in the reed block.----The little pin MUST go in that hole!----The sealer to be used is something like Loctite 518.-----Low filler content and most of the sealer squeezes out to get a metal to metal joint.-----If the sealer is too thick , the bearings...

    Did you line up the pin and get reed block in the correct position?----What sealer did you use when assembling the block?

    It recirculates oil.-----You should NOT disconnect any of it.
