You lost them after you overheated the motor/ran it without muffs

Nope. I like it that way. Then I don't have to worry about people messing it up

Found bolt in 4.3 bilge. Please help identify

Edit: unless coupler bolt as mentioned elsewhere... For some reason I was/am thinking that the coupler bolt was sae even on the metric block. I do believe there's an inspection port on the flywheel cover though.

Found bolt in 4.3 bilge. Please help identify

There are about 50 of those bolts on the 4.3. I'd guess flywheel cover, but also accessory mounts, grounds, harnesses, etc. Not critical whatever it is.

Best way to fasten bow rails?

Not cutting foam. Prepared to die on this hill. I REALLY want riv-nuts to work though. How am I fastening the plate?

Best way to fasten bow rails?

Yep, that's my boat. Well, sure Scott, of course I know the correct way to do it ;) Problem is that in addition to the vertical fiberglass behind the bolsters, is that the whole area is foamed in. I'm guessing there's some sort of a wood backer in between the foam and fiberglass, which I'm also...

Best way to fasten bow rails?

My bow rails are treated as olympic grade gym equipment by my guests. They are not. OEM fastened with wood screws through the glass and into who knows what (if anything) beneath. They have ripped out more times than I care to count. Tried repairing holes with glass, epoxy, using embedded machine...

Knocking sound from my Alpha One Gen 2

The order to do all of this in, as mentioned above: 1. Drain oil. May not have shavings in it if it was just filled and hasn't been run much 2. Take off top cap and look at upper gears. Those gears/bearings can rust/pit if stored dry 3. Run motor with drive off, to confirm that that's your problem.

Knocking sound from my Alpha One Gen 2

Gimbal checked just by feels. Ujoints ime can still feel ok but be bad. Did you store the drive without oil? First thing would be to drain/check for metal, pull top cap to inspect gears, and pull the drive and run the motor off a hose to try to isolate the problem a bit more.

    Strange Previous Owner Hack Job..?

There's a write up in the stickies going over the TB-IV and V. Agree with scott, if the 4.3s had knock sensors, they're rare. The TB-V has a bit more sophisticated advance map, but without a knock sensor I'm not sure how much of an upgrade it is. Bottom line is the TB-IV is just fine. I thought...

That red wire beneath the buss/breaker is going to go at some point

96 Alpha One gen 2 trim stuck until I short terminals

If both up and down probably not both solenoids. Wouldn't "jam" from hitting something. First thought would be bad switch/wiring from switch. See if you're getting 12v from green/grd and blu/grd from the switch when activated. Iirc there's a sticky around here for troubleshooting. Also...

Forgot those existed. Always meant to try one, but never get around to ordering it. Not sure where it would fall though?

    Artificial Intelligence

Exactly. AI is very confidently wrong many times. It weights responses based on popularity of the source rather than the accuracy. This is a huge problem when using it for medical questions.

Should I add resin to the transom

I'd use adhesive of some kind. That hole isn't really structural. I used resin/drilled mine, but it's tough to get that hole perfect given the access.

West Marine files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Placed an online order with them a couple of months ago, had a problem with it. There was literally not an email or phone number to contact for support. Never seen that before. Even tried calling the number associated with the charge on the card, which wasn't a working number. Ended up disputing...

    Older Stingray boats

What info do you need? The model isn't really important, all of your parts will be sourced from the drivetrain. Anything boat-specific you'll have to just scavenge or find a suitable substitute most likely
