Problem with that is that it can encourage overly aggressive investing, since it isn't really their money. Bigger problem is that the commission statistically is greater than with a passively managed low fee fund.

    Happy Birthday, Scott

How does everyone know your birthday? I'm just a few weeks from half a buck and want everyone to forget about it.

Dude, if you can't see how this is totally racist then I got nothing for you. "These (fill in ethnicity/religion/nationality) are known to be (fill in characteristic: criminals/rapists/musicians/good at math)". That sentence wouldn't fly. Also, your analogy about a plumber fixing a vehicle is...

I have funds with Fidelity and vanguard, and both offer absurdly low fee index funds. Schwab has them as well. It's been shown over and over that actively managed funds don't outperform indexes and that the management fees take a huge bite of of your earnings over time. If you want to keep it...

    Carb tuning

I would think that was long as you're not hesitating off idle you're good. I hear you with the winds... Looks like I might not get in this weekend again, even though the damn boat was ready earlier than in years.

    MS Office alternative

Most things are app based now anyways. The outlook app is pretty decent, and you can always use the web version. Lots of email apps out there (including gmail) let you check your outlook account.

Mercruiser 165 shifter cable thread repair

So was the boot torn, or just the outer jacket of the cable? If just the cable jacket, that wouldn't be the source of the leak. Boot for sure. Was the tap you used an NPT tap? Should be a straight tap. When you screw in the old nut, is there play? If so, The proper repair would probably be to...

Every car I've owned had much greater inner wear than outer. Guessing anything reasonably sporty runs with a good amount of negative camber.

    Too Much Prop Issue?

Bottom line is that unless you can get the boat to WOT rpms (around 4500 rpm) and speed (should be in the area of 50mph), too many bad things could be going on... If you don't get those numbers on a water test I'd walk away.

    Hot water heater

I looked into replacing my gas tank with tankless a few years ago. Not an easy conversion, many of the specialized adapters, Etc we're super expensive, in addition to the cost of the heater itself. To say nothing of the increased labor to get it in there. I calculated the payback at something...
