    From my experience owning a sailboat that stayed in the water all year when ever I hauled it out for bottom paint I would find a new batch.. sanding the paint would make them show up.

    You're most likely correct in suspecting a bad relay, they are hit and miss these days, but run through your wiring. It's easy to get confused. 🙂

    2 feet of water should be plenty since the boat is stripped down to nothing, it most likely would float in a foot.

    what "book" It's been my experience that it needs to be clean. the dielectric grease would be fine.
