Mercruiser 4.3 will not start ( no clicks, not even cranking)

That circuit breaker is the main breaker for all the engine stuff....it feeds the ignition switch. The rest of the boat should have another main circuit breaker (house circuit). Where are you measuring the 10.9 volts? If it's tripping, you've got a short some where in the start circuit.

Mercruiser 4.3 will not start ( no clicks, not even cranking)

10.9 volts is not good. You've got a bad connection somewhere. The clicking sound may then be that starter relay. I had a 5.0 TKS and the relay was in the area of what your picture shows. It should look something like this (at least it was on my engine). The contact side of the relay is...

Mercruiser 4.3 will not start ( no clicks, not even cranking)

What do you mean by "power is going to the starter"? It could be a couple of things....the ignition switch itself, neutral safety switch on the throttle, or, if you have it, the starter relay on the engine. I would do a voltage check and see if there is voltage on the ignition switch when you...

    Mercruiser 5.0l TKS (2010 Bayliner 245)

If your engine is taking a long time to warm up, have you checked to make sure the thermostat isn't stuck open? I'm kind of thinking the diode in the TKS circuit is blown open. If it is, the TKS module is not being energized while the engine is warming up there by keeping a rich mixture going...

No water flow then no starting

Another observation. If I have the muff running with water and you remove the drain plug on the intake side of the water pump, should water be coming out?

No water flow then no starting

This is the first time bringing my 6.2 MPI out of hibernation (first time with a fuel injected engine). Long story short, hooked up the muffs, engine fired up (yay). After several minutes of running, there still was no water coming out of the exhaust (the block was full of anti-freeze). It...

    Gas seeping from fill cap

That's what I thought. This didn't happen with my 204 but then I never went to the station, filled her up after doing all the winterization. With the 204, I filled it up, brought it back and then winterized it which meant running the engine to do the oil change....I burned fuel doing all that...

    Gas seeping from fill cap

My boat is all winterized including a full tank of gas. I thought this problem went away, but once again I'm smelling a gas odor. Looking at the boat, gas is somehow seeping from the gas cap, running down the trim to a point just past the through-hull drain fittings and then dripping to the...

Is the bilge drain hole to small or am I stupid

Looks like it. I did some googling. It just threw me for a loop because my last boat didn't seem to have the same setup. I was able to get my arm down there and remove the nut/wire and get the oil hose through the hole. I guess it night night for the boat until next season.

Is the bilge drain hole to small or am I stupid

I'm not stupid. One of the screws securing the drain is actually a bolt that has a ground wire attached to it. Is the ground wire attached to the bilge drain fitting normal? Is it for corrosion protection? Is it possible the previous owner had a bilge plug light?

Is the bilge drain hole to small or am I stupid

Have a 2005 Chap 256SSi with the 6.2L. I'm trying to feed the oil drain hose through the bilge drain so I can drain and change the oil. It doesn't seem to want to fit through. The drain plug diameter seems bigger than the diameter of the hose....so confused.

Bravo 3 Sea Water Pump - What's this?

Thanks for all the info/help. One impeller change done but what a PIA getting the pump off and back on mainly due to the hoses and the shape of the bilge. I was going to try the recommendations of pulling the intake hose off the pump, but there wasn't enough room and my hand/wrist doesn't...

Bravo 3 Sea Water Pump - What's this?

Didn't think of the suction side. That makes sense. Do you do you're own impeller change? If so, any tricks to dealing with stiffer hose? This is my first go-around with a Bravo water pump.

Bravo 3 Sea Water Pump - What's this?

The red hose has stampings for 200 PSI rating and is way more rigid. I can't seem to flex it enough to pop it off that fitting. The discharge hose was easy. I don't know how such a high rated hose got installed on the intake side. There's no need for 200 PSI rating. My luck it got replaced...

Bravo 3 Sea Water Pump - What's this?

I wrestled with it some more to rotate the fitting to better see the clip thingy. One pic is with the clip pulled up. Don't mind the blood on the one hose clamp. Missing a few skin cells 😁

Bravo 3 Sea Water Pump - What's this?

Sorry about that. The picture was kind of upside down. I notated the pic as well as a screen shot of my cooling diagram. The red hose seems to more rigid than the black hoses and that might be what is giving me trouble pulling the hose off. The box is the fitting that has that spring clip thingy.

Bravo 3 Sea Water Pump - What's this?

I'm trying to remove the sea water pump and the intake has this fitting with a spring loaded something on it that pulls up in to a second position. You can sort of see the one leg of it in the pic. At first I though it could be a quick disconnect in the middle but that doesn't seem to be the...

Rust stain from sterndrive water inlet

I've noticed a rust stain running out of the sterndrive water inlet. If it's from the manifolds or risers, I don't see how the water could back flow through the impeller. Any ideas?

Hi gloss polished look - what am I missing.

Here's the one pic with before/after using the oxidation remover and the heavy cut pad. I was just looking at it again, may be I need to do another pass with the orange pad (lighter cut/polishing) before going to the black pad (polishing)
