    Anchor locker drain

I'm a boater not a photographer 🤣🤣 I didn't even realize the angle was off.

    Anchor locker drain

With some measuring, the hole is right near the bottom of the anchor locker. It was not obvious. Shot some air in to the screw hole and a piece of gel coat in the locker blew out and then I could see day light. Took a small drill bit and drilled in...then back drilled from within the locker...

    Anchor locker drain

Trying to figure out why my locker is not draining and at the same time understand the drain path. There is one of those clam shell covers near the keel above the water line. I know this is the locker drain. I blew air up the hole and saw bubbles in the locker. I took the clam shell cover off...

    Integrated swim platform leaking?

You must be telepathic :p It wasn't tipped up that much, but checking the bellows came to mind just as I started to check for any updates to the post.

    Integrated swim platform leaking?

I believe the integrated platform is really two pieces sandwiched together with sealant in the middle...that's what it seems to look like when looking in from the engine bay. Maybe the sealant is starting to fail.

    Integrated swim platform leaking?

I installed the sonar transducer right after de-winterizing, but haven't had any issues with the last few outings. The fact that the wet storage bin in the swim deck was full and was also draining out, I think shows enough of the platform was underwater. What just dawned on me is that I had...

    Integrated swim platform leaking?

My previous boat with the extended swim deck would get partially submerged at the steeper ramps. Maybe once the bow nestles in to the roller on the winch arm, the aft end can't float up as easily. In this case, how did the water get in to the bilge.

    Gross trailer weight rating

Oh...yeah....duh...I'm forgetting my physics. I guess it would be a problem if the tongue could suspend itself in the air 😁

    Gross trailer weight rating

In another post, I posted the results of my boat/trailer weigh in, ~7300 lbs. I believe my GTW is greater than 7000 lbs, but I have to double check with loadrite since the placard is unreadable. If I have 3500 lbs axles, how can the GTW be greater than 7000 lbs? Another side question since...

    Integrated swim platform leaking?

My 256 SSi has an integrated swim platform. Are they notorious for leaking water in to the bilge/engine compartment? This was the first time using the particular ramp today with my 256 SSi. The ramp is a little steeper than others I've used. When I pulled the boat out of the water, the bilge...

    Help me rewire my Pontoon

If you're planning on having a separate batt switch for the house circuit and a separate batt switch for the motor, then I would say the diagram is correct. The only comment I would make is to add a fuse/circuit breaker on the line between the switch and the fuse block. The fuse block protects...

    SmartCraft Gauge or NMEA2000 Gateway

Is there a way to determine what's available? Outside of navigation related info, is there any engine data that would be displayed on a smartcraft gauge that would be transmitted over 2k from the gateway?

    SmartCraft Gauge or NMEA2000 Gateway

I have a Lowrance Elite that supports 2k, but I know it's far from a bonafide MFD.

    SmartCraft Gauge or NMEA2000 Gateway

Looking for opinions on pros/cons for taking the gauge route or the gateway route. My main goal is to have the ability to track fuel usage. Originally I was thinking of taking the gateway path and hook up to my GPS, but my tach is a little on the bouncy side I have to smack the gauge at times...

    Boat Dry Weight

I have a 2005 Chap 256SSi with the 6.2 B3. I got everything weighed and calculated that the boat is around 5500lbs (I subtracted the weight of full tanks). The published dry weight is 4950lbs. I'm figuring some of the weight difference is due to the engine as gear was on the boat when weighed...

    Merc 5.0 TKS Heat Issue

In addition to Fun Times reply.... I had a 5.0 TKS. Never had any issues like that but I did some reading for my on knowledge. I'll offer my knowledge in case it may help diagnose the issue. TKS engines have 3 different temperature sensors. One of them is a temp switch which is needed for...

Mercruiser 4.3 will not start ( no clicks, not even cranking)

Was the breaker still tripping? This may be a wild idea, try disconnecting the starter wire (should be yellow/red) from the ignition switch. If the breaker still trips when you turn the switch to start, you may have a bad ignition switch.

Mercruiser 4.3 will not start ( no clicks, not even cranking)

What is the voltage reading on the terminals of the breaker? The feed to the breaker comes from the terminal on the starter that is connected to the battery (large gauge wire). If I understand what you've said, you're reading 12v on the starter terminal that's connected to the battery.

    Mercruiser 5.0l TKS (2010 Bayliner 245)

The TKS carbs have that distinct hissing sound. I never really heard it on my last boat unless the engine cover was open. Replacing the diode is as simple as fuse. Hopefully it is just that.
