    Force 120hp won't start

Are you sure the little passages in the brass bolts which hold the float bowls on are not clogged?

1995 Force 120 no water pumping through powerhead

Final follow-up on this: Motor pumps water fine now, and is running great. My problem was the plastic sleeve or coupler which slides over the outlet tube on top of the water pump was falling off, or not sealing well to the water tube extending down from the midsection. I put the lower unit on...

125 force cant find serial & model numbers.

The serial number on my engine has rubbed off the label. But I checked the title for the boat, and it has the motor's serial number on it (with one typo). I know the history of the boat from new, so I'm fairly confident it is right.

1995 Force 120 Thrust Washer confusion

I pulled the prop on my recently acquired Force 120, and it looks like it has the wrong thrust washer. The washer (P/N 75282) was contacting the outer rim of the prop, not the inner recessed metal mating surface, leaving an empty cavity about 3/8 thick which was mostly filled with salt, and the...

1995 Force 120 no water pumping through powerhead

Got it, thanks! Hoping for first shakedown run with this boat in the next week or two. Never ending list of things to check or get sorted. OP had the wrong thrust washer, (it was too big, did not nest in hub of propeller) Just got the new one.

1995 Force 120 no water pumping through powerhead

Success! Got it all back together on the third try, fired it up and it pumped water out the thermostat hole. So I reinstalled the thermostat, ran it again and water comes out the telltale. Weakly unless I rev a bit above idle, then strong when it revs. Got to check/change the lower unit oil...

1995 Force 120 no water pumping through powerhead

Well, I was right about the gap. My mistake was putting the coupler on the water tube, then installing the lower unit with the 5" spacer in place. The hole in the spacer is smaller that the outer diameter of the coupler, so as I tightened the bolts on the lower unit, it pushed the coupler...

1995 Force 120 no water pumping through powerhead

Thanks for the response, Jerry. Having slept on it, my current thinking is that I installed that rubber coupler wrong, so that the water is exiting the top of the pump, but not going up the tube. I recall mounting it to the tube, seeing an o-ring on the tube and pushing the coupler firmly up...

1995 Force 120 no water pumping through powerhead

Good day, Force-mates I acquired a 1995 Force 120 25" shaft, condition unknown with a project boat I recently bought. My mechanic (45 years experience on all brands, trained outboard mechanics) looked it over and suggested I get rid of it and buy another brand, rather than put any money into...

    Tohatsu 3.5 no spark

This motor thrown in with a boat I bought. It is the model without a shifter. Hasn't run in 5+ years, but is likely low hours. I cleaned out the tank and lines and carb, changed the plug, use new gas. Get no spark. I suspect the coil. (black plastic thing on side of motor with one big and...
