I've tried dealing with Hurricane directly...WOW!...(my mother taught me if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all) so I'll leave it at...

Zyrex bottom paint...Anyone familiar with this?

Hello Everyone, Anyone familiar with Zyrex bottom paint? They make some large claims about the product. I called them twice trying to get more info but got a home style answering machine instead. Also, their website isn't quite ready for prime time, if you click "application centers" there...

    12 volt or 14 volt navigation light...or a better 12 volt?

Hello everyone, My white nav light burnt out so I replaced it with a 12 volt ancor wedge bulb but the bulbs keep burning out. I'm wondering if I should have used a 14 volt instead or a better 12 volt bulb like perko which costs 4 times as much as ancor. FYI...the red, green, and white lights...

    Hurricane sd217 docking light cover...how do I re-attach it?

Hello everyone, The glass docking light cover came off. It was laying on the bow in front of the light fixture. I don't know how it came off. I can't figure out how it re-attaches . There's just the glass cover with a clear gasket. Thanks, Paul Bolden

    Sand before bottom painting?

Hello Everyone, Question: Do you always sand before bottom painting? I have a hurricane 217 sd. There are no signs of blistering, etc. A marina emailed me a quote which included sanding. Here's his quote: To lift the boat off the trailer, sand the bottom, paint the bottom with two coats...

Hello everyone, I have a 21 foot hurricane deck boat that has an auxiliary/lighter plug at the helm. My dock doesn't have electric. I was wondering if typically these plugs can handle a 250 watt plug-in style inverter in order to run a stick vacuum with a draw of about 150 watts? Thanks...

Hello Everyone, Does anyone know if the bilge pump on the Hurricane 217sd has an automatic float. I am new to boating and just learning my way. I've had my boat for a few months but think that I may have a bilge pump problem. I didn't know to briefly run the bilge pump before we go out each...

VHF radio and antenna install help please

Hello Everyone, I went to install a fixed mount vhf radio. The tight quarters under the helm made it very difficult to locate a hot wire amongst the jumble of wiring. The radio will be mounted under the dash below the stereo system (see pic with red box below). Should I pull the stereo...
