    its a mid 1980s mariner 30hp longshaft not exactly sure of the year, looked on the sticky and wasnt able to find the motor. its serial is 689 L 402886 it has 25hp decals but the guy said its a 30.

    Johnson 9.9 "Professionally" changed to 15hp

    I am looking at a motor and the guy claims its a 9.9 professionally changed to a 15hp. is there anything other then the carb basically he changed if he did anything at all? its a 88 or 89 any way of me telling the difference in hp? and that hes not just full of it?
