Boat Very Hard to Steer to the Right Under Power

Thanks! Looks like it came with a trim tab, but not there now. Boat is in a slip, so I will have the hull cleaner install one. I assume I turn it to the left to fix the problem I am having?

Boat Very Hard to Steer to the Right Under Power

1986 Bayliner 2560 with 5.7 Volvo Penta 260a, no power steering. When going slow I can turn wheel either way with almost zero effort. However, when I am under power, it is very hard to steer to the right (super easy to the left). Any suggestions for a fix, or is it just something I have to...

Volvo Penta 5.7 Temp Gauge Not Working

Removed tape yesterday and used Permatex 59235 High Temperature Thread Sealant. Still no reading on gauge. Ran for 20+ minutes and engine was not warm to the touch. Purchased infrared thermometer today and will check actual temp after running for another 20+ min tomorrow.

Leaving I/O in water all year round?

Put new zincs, bellows, good drive paint and bottom paint before putting it in. We have a diver clean everything up once a month in the summer and every couple months in the winter and replace zincs as needed. I/Os are not the best for year round slips, but can work fine if you are careful...

Spar Varnish or Urethane for Deck Rails and Trim?

Thanks. I am good with a few hours a year, but from what I have heard it would be that much every few months. The door and surrounding trim would be Varnish also.

Spar Varnish or Urethane for Deck Rails and Trim?

I think I may just remove the wood from the deck rails. Not sure I am up to all the maintenance it will require. Bayliner did this a few years later. Here are the pics of my year and a 1990. 1986 1990 Mine looks the same under the wood, minus the walkthroughs. I would have to install...

Spar Varnish or Urethane for Deck Rails and Trim?

I am going to refinish the deck rails and trim on my 1989 Bayliner 2560. I think I have decided against teak oil because of how often you must reapply it. I am looking at either Rustoleum Marine Spar Varnish or Spar Urethane. Which would be better for my application? The boat is kept in a...

How to Remove Several Coats of Bottom Paint?

Will products like Peel Away or Petit's Bio-Blast leave the gel coat in good enough shape to not need a barrier coat?

How to Remove Several Coats of Bottom Paint?

I bought a 1989 Bayliner Trophy 2560 and need to repaint the bottom (in addition to a long list of other things). However, there are what looks like many coats of bottom paint on there from the previous owner. To make matters worse, it looks like he just hosed it off prior to repainting...
