Leak thru the lower aluminum anode bolt, I recently installed them after redoing transom. Do you put silicone around the bolt prior to tightening?

Ok, In what I have read on this forum, they recommend using 3M adhesive, either 4200 or 5200, question is it possible to loosen those 2 lower aluminum nuts without removing the engine again, I surely hope not. 🤬

Leak thru the lower aluminum anode bolt, I recently installed them after redoing transom. Do you put silicone around the bolt prior to tightening?

I rebuilt my transom recently. I took it out today for the very first time and had noticed water was coming in from the lower starboard aluminum anode bolt. It wasn't coming out of the other side, just the starboard side. Question - when installing the anode bolt and the egg shaped anode...

Temperature Gauge Not Functioning Mercruiser Alpha One, Help.

It definitely looks tan. However, I'm not sure about a stripe, as I'm away from the boat currently.

Temperature Gauge Not Functioning Mercruiser Alpha One, Help.

I grounded the temp sensor wire to the block, turned the key on and no movement. I also ran a wire to the temp sensor and grounded it, no difference.

Temperature Gauge Not Functioning Mercruiser Alpha One, Help.

I recently removed the engine to rebuild my transom. Today I finally took it out and noticed the temperature gauge isn't registering at all. Could I have screwed up a wire? The wire on the sensor on the block is intact. What steps do I need to take to test it. I am getting voltage at the gauge...

Does the power trim motor have to be bleed, I removed the gimbal housing for transom repair awhile ago. Motor engages no movement of Trim Rods.

After a few tweaks with the hoses and letting out pressure etc, I was finally able to get the trim rams to work.

No luck bleeding it so far. Does the outdrive have to be on when I bleed it? I'm thinking weight may be a factor.

    Anyone own a Helix 5 GPS Chirp3 Head. I have a question.

Does anyone here have the Helix 5 fish finder, I have a question. My unit only came with the transducer wire and the accessories/power wire that hook into the back of the head. The middle input wire on the back of the head where it says com wasn't in the box. Was I supposed to get that wire, or...

Does the power trim motor have to be bleed, I removed the gimbal housing for transom repair awhile ago. Motor engages no movement of Trim Rods.

Does the power trim motor have to be bleed? I did a transom rebuild and the gimbal housing was off the boat for 2 months, the trim motor engages, but the rods don't move up or down, the outdrive isn't on it yet., is that maybe why because there's no pressure or weight to the trim rods?

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

The transom is finally done, now the engine and all the hardware go back in. This free boat, costed me about $2k for parts, did all the labor myself thanks to YouTube and this forum. Before and After pics. Hopefully I can get some good years out of her.

Gimbal Housing Studs for a Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen 1. Need the specific part # or size for these.

Thanks, I'm not sure if there was a washer behind the 7/16 nut on the transom mount. I'm assuming there was, I'm just asking if so. As i may have misplaced it.

My friend forgot to lock the hitch. Doh!

My tailgate was $120 brand new on eBay, it was $200 to paint it and the rear topper plexiglass window was $90. I escaped some expensive damages rather easily. My friend who forgot to close the latch and pin it gave me half. I have a new tailgate now. 👍😉👍
