    Trim not working properly

I've had a rinker 06 270 for about 8 years, 350 mpi and bravo 3. Trim only worked with down or trailer switch for operation. I worked through a transom re seal on here and replaced the sending units but still not working...I don't know if it's the handle in the switch or some other bug in the...

    Correct battery selection

So I have a 2006 Rinker 270 which has a lot of nice electrical features, namely the fridge and the windlass anchor....the anchor has been a bit spotty here lately when I go to retrieve it. Like yesterday, was out on the lake and it goes out no issues...but when I go to retrieve it, it seems like...

OK team, you all walked me through pulling my 350 motor out of my 270 rinker, rebuilding my transom asy and back in the boat which was 100% sucessful for some time but back to leaking... I did find that my shift boot cable had a tare in it, although I had replaced it so not sure what was up...

    out drive play

So I have been threatening to do something about the out drive play, bravo III. Rebuilt the transom assy including a new steering pin and the old one was just a little pitted and not worn but replace while I had it apart. The drive does not move side to side at the pivot point of the steering...

Getting the glass to shine again!

I have an 06 fiberglass 27' boat. Previous owner did not do much to keep the finish up ( or much else either). So the sides were real chaulky when I got it, lightly wet sanded and buffed and polished with 3m heavy oxidized one step wax and it really worked. The large areas are easy to knock out...

    Gimbal bearing

So, had done the bellows and gimbal chasing a water leak (bellows was not the problem) and getting it back on the water. Couple of short runs addressing a power steering pump and bugs after pulling the motor and getting there. Did a test run last weekend and started hearing a tick...thought it...

    Power steering hose routing

I don't think I could have messed it up but I can't really find a routing for the ;power steering hoses to the steering cylinder...high side goes to which connector on the cylinder? All the manual shows is the cooler but the high side does not go to the cooler does it? The cooler would be on the...

    Steering slop

I have rebuilt my transom asy including my steering pin. I am on another forum and we have a back and forth discussion on moving the out drive side to side holding on to the foot. If the steering pin is bad, then I'd think if you grab the out drive at the top and push it side to side- but if...

    Installing new piston seal

Long story short, have my Kodiak 225 caliper on my bench and I'm trying to put it together. The pictures show that the old piston seal is the same as the new one- I can not get that thing to go into the groove and "pop" in the last little bit. When I have it all pressed in and pushed all the way...

Let's start from scratch on this trailer..

This trailer is a train wreck.will start from the beginning and I was very inexperienced with the size boat trailer. Had a couple of boats over the years but never really had trailer problems. This trailer catches me up. I will try to make it short. bought a Rinker 270 about 4 years ago. Boat is...

    Power Steering pump

So, couple of things...first, there must be a high rate theft of power steering pumps as they are a mother *^$($% to get off! As soon as I took the belt off, the pulley has a lot of wobble to it so I assume what ever is there for a bearing is toast. I will do some research and see if I can...

    Power Steering pump

So, after having an issue with a line at the power steering cooler (2006 350 MPI) and losing all the fluid I may have burnt up the power steering pump. A quick look at the manual looks like there is a fluid seal behind the pulley wheel. It got really hot for sure. Big job to rebuild? Is this a...

    Shift cable boot

I'm just beside myself and frustrated. 2006 Mercrusier 350 with bravo III. With all the things I have been able to accomplish on my boat repair wise, I can't get the shift cable boot to stay put. I have reglued it several times. I'm off to WM to get a new clamp and a new tube of adhesive. I'm...

    Leaf spring failed..and more?

So this is the spring I have...with a hook on the end....so when I take the eye bolt bolt out will this other end just come out? The bolt that holds the part that joins the two springs together it looks like the hook goes over but I'd think once it is loose it just swings over? I'm just sure...
