1990 bayliner trophy 24 foot walkaround

Moving the engine farther back by adding a bracket will cause the stern to lay deeper in the water. Besides, I am not sure that you need a kicker with that engine. It looks like that engine can go slow enough for trolling. A good splashbox will keep the water out and removing a kicker that you...

    Repainting a 1989 221V Starcraft Islander

That is a nice idea, except that Lake Ontario changes color all the time. It is very often clear as glass. Near the rivers it is brownish after rains and then there is the green water I am always looking for because that is nutrient rich and where the fish hang out. If I follow your advice I...

What could these brackets be for?

As a dodge guy he is probably able to read and recognize parts hidden under many layers of rust...

maybe changing from 4.3 liter cobra to 175 Suzuki outboard on a Starcraft Islander Islander.

I have been looking for a 30 inch shaft. So far I have not found one. And yes I plan to have a splashwell, although a fairly small one. Part of the reason for the change is that I want to get rid of the big doghouse so I have more work space for fishing which is what this boat is all about. I...

maybe changing from 4.3 liter cobra to 175 Suzuki outboard on a Starcraft Islander Islander.

The 700 pounds is divided between the engine and the outdrive. The engine is 560 pounds and rests on the stringers. The outdrive rests on the transom and weights about 150 pounds. So I would shift the weight backward onto the transom when installing the outboard.

maybe changing from 4.3 liter cobra to 175 Suzuki outboard on a Starcraft Islander Islander.

I am almost done pulling the transom (very sloddily installed 2 years ago) out of my 1989 Starcraft Islander and as usual I ask myself if I should take the big step and remove the I/O and change to an outboard. With the transom being replaced, now would be the time to do it. I'm eying a new 175...

    Less people in box stores.

It is probably the reason why I like going to Costco. That place is always jam packed. As for Sears, It never was a favorite of mine.

    Sewing machine for canvas,Which brand??

I use a 80 year old pedal driven Singer made for horse tackle and leather sewing. If you can find a beast like that , you're in business

    marine formula debond

These last few days I have been removing parts that were glued on to aluminum with M5200 while the temperature I worked in was well below 32F. To my amazement. all the m5200 came off very easily without cursing, chiseling and debond. I took some of this stuff inside and as things got warmer the...

Installing a trolling motor on a 21ft CC

Personally I would go with AGM or EFB batteries. Both are lead acid ,but properly sealed ones. The Lithium ion often need a different type of charger and they are a bit problametic with the charging system on older outboards

Installing a trolling motor on a 21ft CC

It is very important to have the right weight balance in your boat. For trailering you need some serious weight on the front end to prevent serious accidents while trailering. Also, with too much weight on the rear you will have trouble with your hole shot because the front of the boat will...

Can I buy a trailer online?

That was still Fred. The good thing about going very local is that you can drive up to, sit down with him and explain exactly what your needs are. If your local guy knows his business he might suggest something that fits your needs better and help you get what best fits your needs. It always helps.

    marine formula debond

I used the debond today on some m5200 glued material and it loosened the stuff with great ease. I wonder if sub freezing temperatures make the m5200 brittle, because it was not so much that it desolved, it just came loose from one side.

Jeez! What happened to global warming

My brother and sister inlaw live in the Berkshires they are artsy fartsy flaky hippie type senior citizens. And as always ill organized for the winter. I used to go visit them in the early fall to help them split and stack the six or seven full cords they need every winter. This year I thought...

    Time for a new mattress

When my wife was still with me , we slept in a queen size bed and felt comfortable with enough room. Now I have 2 large golden retrievers who just decided that they should sleep on the bed with me. Now I will need a king size bed so there is room for me as well.

    marine formula debond

This is some goop in a spray can. The internet claims that this is about the only thing that will loosen up M5200. Does anybody here have any experience with it and what do you think about it?

What brand of Cotton socks are still good quality ?

Probably, but you will never know, because they automatically hand them out to you without ever asking if you want them. I do suspect that the mark up is a few thousand percent and all of that is well hidden in the hospital bill in tiny print.

Redoing a Starcraft Islander transom using Coosa board.

Yes April, please come quick. I am getting older and working in sub freezing weather has never been a favorite pass time for me. It is only the beginning of December and already the temperature went down to 9 degrees last night. And I am not a Canadian like my daughter in law who wore a tshirt...
