Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Can depend on where you live and how well you read the rules. Years back I built a deck on my home. As long as it was elevated and not enclosed it could extend over a corner of my leach field. Years later I added a roof because it was allowed on previous built decks under a grandfather rule...

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Been thru the political mess myself when my barn was built. Read all the required rules yourself and compare them to your state codes as in most cases local codes can't overide state codes....one thing to consider is adding a lean to type roof to the barn side, I did that here and when the...

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Lots of pro's and con's to a cover.....needs to be waterproof yet needs to breath or it causes mold. Wrestled with this for years. Best solution I have found is a pole barn !! Even a portable structure is better than a poor boat cover. Look at the ribbed panel structures, no footer required...

Starts right up sometimes, but other times crank no start

You need to locate a " Factory Service Manual" not an aftermarket one. All your adjustments and specs will be there. When cranking over, are the plugs firing? When it refuses to start but cranking over are the plugs firing? It does not sound like anything simple, so time to locate a service...

    2000’s Bayliner 175 I/O

All depends on how it has been maintained, how it will be maintained, you get what you pay for, but many do not need the Queen Mary, just something to get on the water. Do keep in mind, in my area, aluminum boats hold resale value far better than glass boats.

Mercury Tempest, Turning Point Mach 3 or Michigan Wheel Apollo?

If my memory serves me correctly, the rake is what controls bow lift, but you need someone with more prop expertise than I have.

    2000’s Bayliner 175 I/O

I would look at a good aluminum hull, and forget the cheap glass hulls.

1994 Starcraft Super Fisherman 170 Rebuild Help

Might be better to show the problem areas themselves. Nice looking boat, that hull style handles chop well.

1994 Starcraft Super Fisherman 170 Rebuild Help

Just keep in mind, while it may be a fun project to get the boat just the way you want it.....you will never get your time and money back out of the project. If that is OK....then onward !!! If that is going to be a problem then look for a boat that needs little to no work. Good luck....

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

Wife's car is leather and they are hot in summer and cold in winter until the heaters warm them up. My Jeep has cloth seats and they are cool in the summer and the seat heaters warm them quickly in the winter, which my arthritis likes real well. Hand also let me the heated wheel as hands have...

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

On my Jeep, the temp at which they come on can be adjusted in the dash panel. Just realized it this fall when I found out I could remove the annoying centerline on the backup camera. Currently my seat scans steering wheel are set at 40 degrees F.

    Prince craft boats

Based on my limited exposure the early models had some construction issues, but later models have had few complaints that I know of. They were not very popular in my area, but that doesn't mean they were bad. I am referring to the aluminum hulls, do not know if glass versions were ever made...

    Been a little cold.

Every outboard I have ever owned has the mfgr. stating that their motors should be stored vertically if temps are going to go below freezing ! That is the only position where they completely drain.

96' Mercury 40hp bore put question

Unfortunately your in a politically correct state with two strokes just about illegal to have or work on. Here in the great lakes area, we have plenty of two stroke repair places. You may have to consider hiring a private machine shop, or send it out of state.
