Question on vents on Starboard side of boat

Yep. That's my plan for that exact reason!!! They are pretty far above the water level, but still. What do they attach to on the other side of them? Is there like a hose and drain or something on the inside?

Question on vents on Starboard side of boat

Just picked up my new to me boat and going through it (lots of questions to come I'm sure, so apologizing now :) ) I was walking around the boat and I found these 3 holes on the side. The two on the right seem to be connected to something inside. The one on the left is legit just a whole in...

    Question on fuel

Checked with the current owner. He did use 91 and was Marine grade. Gonna have to hunt that grade down lol. We have 87, 89 and 93 around here. And my Marina only has 89. So may have to go that route and put in some octane boost each time I guess.

    Anyway to tell outdrive type

Getting a new boat and trying to get ahead of the game and order my usual maintenance items ahead of time so I can just pop them on when I pick it up. Was looking to grab my zincs but trying to determine what type of outdrive I have. I'm assuming it's an Alpha 1 Gen 2 which was what my last boat...

    Question on fuel

Good idea asking previous owner. I know he had it a slip at a large lake, so I would assume marine fuel. My old boat had a 2010 engine (3.0 mercruiser) but I would run into ethanol issues and have to rebuild the damn carb every year because of it. This new engine looks like it's the same carb...

    Question on fuel

Hey everyone, Buying a new boat and it's a bit bigger than my old one. Old fuel tank was 21 gallons, new one is 70. Engine is a 2001 5.0 Mercruiser. In the past, I have always only put a few gallons of fuel from the local gas station to get it running from the winter and do all my checks, then...

How do you match new trailer to existing boat?

Too late for that unfortunately. Trailer is already up there, and boat will be on it next time I am up there so can't measure the stringers. Will have to (fingers crossed) rely on the Marina.

How do you match new trailer to existing boat?

Thanks for everyone's input. Dropping the trailer off tomorrow night. Marina will be doing the work they need to do on the boat and popping on there in the next couple of weeks . I advised the seller (who has been in communication with the Marina) that it is a brand new trailer and might need...

How do you match new trailer to existing boat?

This is what the trailer looks like. It's just a stock pic. I can try to grab some actual pics of it once it stops pouring outside. 2 big bunks in the back and 2 smaller ones in the front. I didn't buy the trailer from a Marina..I got it from a trailer shop and unfortunately the boat is about...

How do you match new trailer to existing boat?

Hey everyone, I am buying a new to me boat. 2001 Maxum 2400SCR. It does not have a trailer, so I went out bought one as I need one to get it home and I would prefer to have a trailer for the boat. It's a 2021 Ventura Com-6000t XF. My question I have, the boat is currently on blocks. The marina...

Bought a new boat..loooads of questions LOL

Thanks!! That is great to hear!! I have always liked the look of these boats. And I really enjoyed my 1800SR3, but it was just a bit small for us and got bounced around quite a bit. Glad to hear she can handle a but of chop, my last boat was very low in the water so felt every...single...bump...

Bought a new boat..loooads of questions LOL

Thanks Charlie. I luck out as far as maneuverability goes...my new slip I literally just pull right up to my dock. No other boats next to me, which is awesome!!! Appreciate the suggestion on the optically clear. I will make sure to ask for that.

Bought a new boat..loooads of questions LOL

Thanks. Yeah, I'm very familiar with the anodes. I used to replace them every year on my old boat. Bellows were replaced in 2019.

Bought a new boat..loooads of questions LOL

Awesome! Thank you for the response! From reading the manual I found, the head unit has some sort of valve on it that allows raw water to come in and I guess that's how it flushes, Appears to be electric pump from what I can see. It will be stored in a slip, so I will look into the shore cord.

Bought a new boat..loooads of questions LOL

Hey there, I just put a deposit down on a 2001 Maxum 2400SCR. Just waiting for ice to melt for a sea trial and she will be all mine. My previous boat was a 2004 Maxum 1800SR3. It did not have nearly the amount of bells and whistles that the new boat has. We went and looked at it today and I...

Issue with acceleration 2010 3.0 Mercruiser

Having an issue with my engine and kind of at a loss as to what it could be. Beginning of the season, replaced the fuel water separator filter and plugs like I do every year. Had some running issues after it was in the water so ended up rebuilding the carb. When putting carb back on, found the...

Cup holder for pull out tray on Maxum SR3 1800

Hello all, I am cleaning up my boat and getting her ready to launch. The below shelf pulls out from under the seat that sits on top of the engine compartment cover. This pic is of the bottom of it. It has always driven me crazy that most things slide right through the cup hole because it is too...

    Underwater Lighting

Thinking of adding some blue under water lighting to my boat. With an 18' boat...can I get away with just one light at the stern? Lights themselves are pretty pricey...so having to buy two may sway my decision to even add it in. Any brand in particular everyone likes? Leaning towards the...
